Don, have you started using loader 1.5? I hear it's fixing a lot of older issues with games. Not exactly sure but just bits and bobs I have read. Maybe worth checking out, unless you already are, then ignore my comments lol.

FYI,

For Chanel to work \apps\usbloaderDK needs to be renamed \apps\usbloader

but in the black theme, is showing the name of games in a white box.
Going to be better if show letters in white and all behind black.

I cannot get this to work, when I launch it, it shows the original loader from Waninkoko ver 1.2? it then says push any button to restart wii, and if I do, it reboots the wii to sys menu. I only have original loader 1.1 and 1.4 so not sure where that background is coming from?

Any ideas?

thanks for your help but i've already done it with a tool that compares 2 directories and tells you which files are missing and what are the changes done within the files. i just need to check the result and include the changes.

if you're using the black theme and want white font on black text, edit the config.txt file this way:
console_color=15,0

the background you see is the default one included in the usbloader... its shows only when the app can't found its background.
most reason is that you don't have the folders set correctly or some file are missing.

RahFah forget it, it won't work. i made a mistake. what i told you is regarding alpha4 which is not yet released (maybe tomorrow). sorry.

I placed the usbloaderDK in my apps directory on my sd card, I placed the usb-loaderAB on the root of my sd card. Is this not correct?

1 - check if you have a folder called 'usb-loader' at the root of your sd, with a config.txt in it. if ever, rename the folder to whatever you want.
2 - if it doesn't work, check the config file within 'usb-loaderAB', and try to see if the bacgrounds you're using exists.

By the way... i still don't have any feedback regarding some user having NTSC wii trying to play PAL games.
Is it working for you or not ? Please i need to know if my fix is working.

I had a folder named usb-loader but I first renamed it to usb-loaderCD and that didn't work, I next deleted that folder, and it still does not work. I tried the usb-loaderAB folder and also renamed it to usb-loader as well. any ideas?

I restarted my usb drive and it now shows six large covers but still shows the origianl 1.2 background form the usb launcher. Why does it not see the one cddreams created?
Also, if i pres "B" to go to settings it code dumps.

rename the usb-loaderAB back to... usb-loaderAB.
then, make sure that this folder contains those files:

config.txt and check those values inside :
background = mainscreen.png
images_path=sdhc:/usb-loaderAB

config.png
mainscreen.png (or whatever is written in the background value)

and those folders:
covers
small

I redid everything from scratch, all the files are there like you laid out. It still shows the original 1.2 background and code dumps when going to settings screen. I am on IOS36-64-1042. Any ideas, I would love to make this my main loader. the ony other loaders I have are installed as channels and work without a sd card in the wii so not sure what is causing this...

if it shows the 1.2 bg and code dumps when going to the settings it's definitely a path issue.
it code dumps coz it tries to load config.png but doesn't find it...

1 - check your config.txt file for the following line:
images_path=sdhc:/usb-loaderAB/ and make sure that it has the sdhc part, not sd, but sdhc.
it was an error i kept looking for about 4hours yesterday...

2 - if it doesn't work, take a look at your sd root, is there any config.txt file? if ever, rename and retry.
i'm loading this file from different default locations to test if the user haven't moved it.

not sure, path is images_path=sdhc:/usb-loaderAB/, and no other config.txt file. not sure what is going on. is it possible for me to move the files and repoint the path to them?

and always check my 1st post (labeled #12) in this topic for the updates.
as i might update some stuff and cdream might not be here to mirror them.

and no you can't really move the directory with this version (remember, it's alpha... so you're a kind of beta testers.) so i really don't understand what's happening.
try to remove everything and copy anew.

i'm sorry but this 3 in the morning here, and i've gotta sleep, this is my last holiday's day... and my last chance to have a long and good night.next monday i've got to get up at 6:15am.

thanks for all the help, I still cannot get this to work. I will wait for your next version. I cannot see anything wrong, so hopefully I will get it sorted out. It just does not work, yet it is working on others wii's. I will try it with a fresh sd card as well. maybe another app is interfering?

Great work

I personally think the black background looks better with the 'reflection' underneath, it's kind of lost on the white one.
I seem to randomly get an 'Abort error' i think it was...
also it seems a little slow.. i guess that's just due to hardware limitations with the SDcard?
Not sure if it's possible or not, but are you able to have the images slide into place etc? rather than just moving?
Also, yes the forwarder still works with this.

What do you mean? it's not working on yours but on your firends one?
We might have catched a new bug. Check the config.txt , do you have spaces around the "=" ?
Try to add some if not, try to add one (images_path = sdhc:/usb-loaderAB/)
And after that, f still not working, try to remove them... (images_path=sdhc:/usb-loaderAB/)

Updated 1st post on the thread to reflect the rapidshare link to your package. I will add that they can check my site as an extra and I will maybe be updating with new images ect so that will just be an optional.

I thought you originally wanted me to make the package for it and upload it which was why I did that, sorted now though
