No cios36_rev9 won't install nor will cios downgrader...nothing else seems to work for me...

Maybe LU648 is the cutoff...just my luck..
Awh, dude, I'm sorry, I wish I could feel for ya, but I haven't actually had that issue, but I feel for you in a brosef gbatemper companion type of way.
Let's hope for a solution soon, there has to be something different about these, I'm assuming it's the boot2 (probably suggested in the the prior pages).

I got the LU6438. I followed your steps but I got stuck after (b). The cIOS downgrader file doesn't show on my HBC. and the updater file also doesn't show on my HBC. i try to add the files on my apps folder on my SD card, i loaded but they dont show at HBC. Anyone could help me and tell me what I am doing wrong? Thanks

QUOTE
a) Install cIOS36_rev9 Installer
b) Restart Wii (dunno if this is necessary, just what worked for me)

c) Downgrade to 3.2U with cIOS downgrader (takes foreverrrr)
d) Run 4.0U updater from Waninkoko (takes even more foreverrrr)
e) I personally had to download cIOSCorp and get CIOS36.wad from there and install it using Channel File Manager 2.0 BETA 4 before I install Preloader 0.29.
f) Install Preloader 0.29

Hey!

I'm new to the form, and I've been doing some experimentation as I found I have one of these LU64 Wii's. Specifically, LU6438++++. So, I don't think it's an issue with just LU646+++ unless I just really fucked something up. Let me start off by stating some of my observations:

1. After install cIOS_fix.wad using the Custom WM, almost everything in HBC is broken. Every downgrader and installer goes straight to a black screen. Things that still work are Title Lister and Custom WM (this means standard WM goes to black screen). Custom WM can install IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad but installing cIOS_fix.wad or IOS36-64-v1042.wad gives error 1035 and uninstalling gives error 1017.

2. After trying nearly everything I could think of, I looked at the tutorial for the System Menu 4.0 downgrade. I still have 3.4U on my system. I'll give you the best of my TITLES.TXT before and after I started the 4.0 downgrade tutorial. This one uses a change in IOS35.

Found 48 titles:
1: Title=10001-41574144 (downloaded channel 'AWAD') vers: 0.1 (1) FW: IOS35
2: Title=10001-48415858 (downloaded channel 'HAXX') vers: 0.1 (1) FW: IOS36
. . .
6: Title=10008-44564458 (hidden? channel 'DVDX') vers: 0.1 (1) FW: IOS36
. . .
17: Title=1-f9 (IOS249) vers: 0.7 (7)
18: Title=1-10 (IOS16) vers: 1.1 (257)
19: Title=1-fe (IOS254) vers: 0.2 (2)
. . .
26: Title=1-23 (IOS35) vers: 12.16 (3088)
. . .
43: Title=1-24 (IOS36) vers: 12.18 (3090)
44: Title=1-3 (IOS3) vers: 255.0 (65280)
. . .
47: Title=1-2 (System Menu) vers: 1.129 (385) FW: IOS50
48: Title=1-4 (IOS4) vers: 255.0 (65280)

After using CMDVDX 3.4 to downgrade IOS35, I tried the WMIOS35. I don't get a blank screen, the banner for WM comes up but the systems halts from there. I did a hard reboot and tried installing CIOSV9.wad using the WMIOS16. It worked!

TITLES.TXT after installing CIOSV9.wad:

Found 47 titles:
1: Title=10001-48415858 (downloaded channel 'HAXX') vers: 0.1 (1) FW: IOS36
. . .
5: Title=10008-44564458 (hidden? channel 'DVDX') vers: 0.1 (1) FW: IOS36
. . .
16: Title=1-f9 (IOS249) vers: 0.9 (9)
17: Title=1-10 (IOS16) vers: 1.1 (257)
18: Title=1-fe (IOS254) vers: 0.2 (2)
. . .
25: Title=1-23 (IOS35) vers: 4.16 (1040)
. . .
42: Title=1-24 (IOS36) vers: 12.18 (3090)
43: Title=1-3 (IOS3) vers: 255.0 (65280)
. . .
46: Title=1-2 (System Menu) vers: 1.129 (385) FW: IOS50
47: Title=1-4 (IOS4) vers: 255.0 (65280)

IOS249 has been updated using cIOSv9, IOS35 has been downgraded, but IOS36 is the same.

Anyone else think this is related to IOS36? I might try to update to System Menu 4.0 and try to downgrade from there. I'm willing to be a tester, I'll just take it back if it breaks.

Gambia, The
maybe someone wants to try cios rev. 10 installer because it installs cios as ios250.

you might need a wadmanager 1.3 and a ios downgrader which use ios250 instead auf 249. good luck.

@Crix0r

I was just coming here to post this exact idea, and here you have beaten me to (parts of) it.

once you get IOS35 downgraded, try to use "wad manager 1.1" to uninstall some IOS (not 30's first, try others) and then install old bugged versions.

if that doesn't work, try the cIOScorp installer 1.01 with cIOScorp.

That is something that has not been tried before. In addition the method provides a WAD manager that runs on IOS35. That is also something that has not been tried before.

wad manager 1.1 ran off of IOS35, and has always been more reliable for me.

QUOTE(Crix0r @ Apr 12 2009, 01:08 AM) I'll give it a try, good sir.

cool,

so the steps are,
comex's dvdx for 3.4
upon success or failure of the dvdx install (doesn't matter) downgrade (think's it is upgrading) IOS35 to trucha-bugged version
use wad manager 1.1 to milk that sucker and see what it can do for you

if you can uninstall any older like teens or twenties IOS and reinstall old bugged versions, you are on your way.

imho, IOS3 is askin for investigation a little later.

WAD Manager 1.1 used a .elf, I successfully converted it, but it also returns with error 1035 while installing title just like Custom WAD Manager 1.3.

cIOScorp just goes to a blank screen. Does anyone know if how System Menu 4.0 affects IOS249?

wait lets back up....

"After using CMDVDX 3.4 to downgrade IOS35"

does that mean you just ran the installer and it changed the IOS number to 0?
because you still have to actually install an older IOS35 wad to downgrade it...

so if you didn't do that, use wad manager 16 to do so.

If you look at my before and after TITLES.TXT, you can see the version change of IOS35 from 12.16 to 4.16. I ran the CMDVDX installer to do so, not a WAD manager.

I have another idea, but it is convoluted, and unlikely to work.

step one
from where you are now,
attempt to use wad manager 16 to install the cIOScorp wad for IOS35
this is pass/fail, works or doesnt

next, load a apploader, like softchip or gecko, making it run off IOS35, this may work now,
once again, pass/fail

next, use this apploader running off the cIOS35 to run the Pink Fish Disc, and see if you can restore to an "unbroke" system state.

this is likely to not work about 10 different ways, but if I have an LU64, id be trying it instead of typing this.

if anyone has the things I listed available and wants to give it a try it is worth a shot

install IOS16
run comex dvdx3.4 installer
followed by
wad manager 16 installing cIOS35 from cIOScorp v1
then running geckoOS or softchip,
loading the PFD,
and seeing if you can delete some titles and/or format your system to a workable state.

Checked the softmii site and there is hope! Hopefully they've already figured it out and are going to release the solution on the 24th...

i just bought a wii a couple weeks ago. I have a LU642 with 3.4U firmware. I have been able to get it downgraded to 3.2U. Not everything is working though. Emulators working fine but cios installer for backup launcher always errors after download is complete and tries to install! I have also tried using cioscorp but it causes an error when tries to initialize the sd card. Seems like this dvd error 324 will never be gone. If anyone has any ideas how to fix or any questions let me know. Thank you.
