Before you attempt to use the Wi-Fi update, make sure you are running the latest Wi-Fi plug-in. To install decompress the archive and place the wfplugin.ak4 file in the __aio/plugin directory.

Wow, I just didnt know if the new wifi plugin was made by the people who made AKAIO cause it says on it that the guy who made it never updates the wifi plugin and needs to get off his arse lol. And the wiki was down lastnight...

re: dma mode
you say dma-quicksave is enabled as default and pressing x/a gives older methods.
any chance of making that a selectable option in the 'per rom' settings if x/a has to be pressed each time?
doesn't affect me at the moment as all working fine but may be handy for others.

i think the idea is to make the dma-quicksave work 100%. but i do see your point and it would make sense to include it. the problem is it requires more stuff to be added to the gui. you will need to ask smiths about this one. ...or how about an ini setting GameNameDMA = A for example.

i'm using firmware version 1.4.1 and is using an Class 6 8GB Ridata Lightning Series Micro SDHC.. I tried playing POR again and the bottom screen goes black everytime i press the start button.. i tried pressing A while the ROM loads and it still happens, same thing with pressing X..

also, after updating to the latest loader (ak2loader), none of my games seem to load.. i get white screens after selecting a ROM..

What does "fixed" here mean? Does it mean you fixed it for the quicksave-mode? Or does it mean the games didn't work before and now they do?

Thanks!

Really depends some games didn't work in any mode some worked in old dma mode and not dma-save mode. Most of those fixes however are dma-save mode fixes.

the dsi stuff i'm about to type is just from what i've read. i don't have a dsi so i can't test, confirm or comment on the following...

some users have expressed some updates for akaio 1.5. i thought i would collect and post those here.

1) fix the brightness setting on the ak2i while running on the dsi. -- according to what i've read the dsi has an extra level of brightness that the current build of akaio does not support.

2) fix the problem with the ak2i only working if the dsi firmware language is set to english. -- i have no idea what this one is about. i know norm and smiths are using the ak2i on the japanese dsi which does not have an english language setting. unless people are talking about the ability to run roms in their native language when they are booted on a dsi that is not in their native language. narin made some cheats for this, cheats that support roms that have multiple languages available.

3) swap the "slot-2" icon for a "msd" icon when running akaio on the dsi. -- last i read there was no way to detect if you were running on the dsi. i know when you have a .ds.gba in nor or a passme flash linker akaio shows up a as a cart icon, but if you have a gba pack or gba game in 3in1 nor it shows up with a 'gba' icon. so perhaps this one is feasible?

4) add a universal sleep mode for all roms so that users do not have to set them with cheats on a per-rom basis.

5) add a global and per-rom setting for the dma/non-dma method of choice. -- i know norm is working on hardcoding which method works, but there still remains the chance that he will miss a rom or a future rom will need a certain mode.

6) when you flash a .ds.gba game to the nor of the 3in1 allow akaio to run the rom in passme mode. currently it tries to run in gba mode which of course fails for these roms.

7) keep track of the last directory visited for gba roms as well. -- when you flash a gba to the 3in1, play, turn off the ds, turn it back on... akaio loads to the last .nds directory you were in, and not the gba directory you last visited.

8) every saturday have a bbq with moogle meat! -- everyone is into this one and smiths will being the liquor.

cheers,

1. DS compatibility mode on the DSi doesnt support changing the brightness without directly changing it in the DSi firmware itself.

2. The DSi must use a different whitelist depending on the selected language the AK2i and most other flashcarts use an english language rom header and thus probably wont work on any other region other than japan and english.

3. I can detect when its running on dsi I just haven't gotten around to fixing that yet.

4. Sleep mode as in what? nds games? gba game? nds games all have sleep mode built in. and akaio auto patches in a universal sleep patch for gba games.

5. As Another World mentioned I'm hard coded and fixing any problem games so do report them to me either on irc o by email preferably in chunks not individually or even better update the wiki compatibility page.

6. Who uses .ds.gba roms anymore? those were made for the ancient gba flashcarts for use with passme's.

7. Good idea no idea why it doesnt do that already.

8. I have a bbq with lots of beer and beef.

Really appreciate the continued improvements to AKAIO, thanks Normmatt and Smith! Especially since Acekard apparently no longer updates their own firmware!

Just curious, could you give a preview of any upcoming feature/changes for 1.5

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it

I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
If you can find enough for it

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then

How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
