Ok after about 15 minutes of testing the game seems to be running fine on AKAIO proper 1.4.1 with out any piracy AR codes enabled

Just wondering since im new, can someone explain to me what piracy AR codes or piracy checks are? I heard it something that prevent you from playiing the game...but does that take effect right away or randomly?
