Gaming Which starter in Pokemon Platinum did you choose?

i chose chimchar, though i wish the new generation starters looked as cool as the 1st(charmander,squirtle bulbasaur) & 2nd(cyndaquil,chikorita,totodile) generation, and they look better by each evolution...the new generation...ehhhh.

Chimchar ftw, Piplup fails later ingame, and Turtwig starts off dam near useless.

i chose chimchar but for some reason my game kept giving me a voltorb no matter what pokemon i chose so in the end i just went through the game with him and now i got a level 100 electrode who is freakin BEAST!!!

Turtwig for diamond (not a big amount of good grass types)
and I choose Chimchar for platinum for something different this time around

dont bother with water, just grab a magikarp (I think its in "every" game) and just evolve it to you know what

so now you got a water/dragon combo

I LIKE IT CAUSE PENGUINS ARE AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Even though it got the lowest stats for the three starters.........nintendo must not like penguins...

Flamethrower, Close Combat, Grass Knot. 4th move doesn't even matter, those 3 let Infernape sweep everything in-game.

I chose Totodile, I love water pokemon, I can teach him serf and it's an awesome attack, cause you can use it outside of battle too. And also he looks really cool because of his last form, Empoleon. He's my strongest Pokemon by like 20 lvls lol, he's so awesome though. I also have a fascination for penguins so that's why I chose Piplup.

From Pokemon yellow to Pokemon platinum and for every game in between, I always chose the water type pokemon. Never have I chosen other types.

Autally, blue and red was made before yellow. And correct me if im wrong but werent you NOT allowed to choose a pokemon in yellow?

Piplup, just as I did in Diamond version.

It's a shame though. I mean, that the starters are all so .. ugly!

Turtwig. Chose it in Diamond might as well choose it in Platinum.
Infernape is just ugly imo.

Chimchar...

I picked Turtwig in Peal and my daughter had Piplup in Diamond. I wanted to try the Fire starter again as I hadn't tried one since Fire Red.

As I expected, the first gym was a bear because of it. (OTOH, I went into the second gym with a moderately Starly/Staravia (it evolved between trainer battles) and blazed though like something out of a John Woo movie.)

BTW, what do you want to have in your team to get through the third gym (psychic/ghost types) with less difficulty? I was doing okay with a couple of Pokemon who new Bite, but had to finally bring in a traded high-level Pokemon (TRU Regigas) to get past the gym leader's Misdeaevous.
