Hi!

First things first: Great work Dack!

I made a good amount of multiboot disks, before finding out about the wiki, so now I added the games, that worked for me, but I can't figure out their sizes, because I allready deleted the original disk-images... all my "yes" entries without any disc sizes are based upon my pal games.

Anyway, hope this helps, as I got Mario Kart Wii to work as the first title on a multiboot-disc. Oh, and finally my first post at gbatemp, after only 3 months(?) of reading!

And another thing: I got that gamecube banner showing up, when I once tried to make a multi of animal crossing, although it's not that close to the gc version (I've read, never played the gc-version myself).

Groovings, Benchlor

As to the extract of an unencrypted partition - did you do this on a 'virgin' ISO i.e. on that had not been shrunk or anything?

I used the 'virgin' ISO and retried, still got the same error. Any idea?

Thanks.

The same situation happened with the 'virgin' Pikmin ISO. The only different is that in "Offshore Tycoon", wiiscubber 1.4 ran until half way and terminated immediately. However, in "Pikmin", it ran about half way, hang for a while then terminated itself.

Thanks for your help.

GENERAL TIP to make it work, based on my obervations and with the help of Benchlor

- Open your ISO file
- delete update partition 0
- Shrink and save DATA from partition 0
- Delete DATA
- import saved DATA at the same position, partition 0, it must be the ONLY game in P0 if you want to be able to run it through the disc channel
- import other games in P1 or higher but not in P0

That's what i'm doing for my partition discs (12) and all are working properly, you can play the game displayed in the channel directly or run Multiboot to access hiden games. This is perfect when you have kids which can't run HBC, then MBoot but are aware to run games from the disc channel, it works well with my 4 years homd daughter.

In addition to Benchlor observations with MKWii, i also delete the MKChannel installer and everything works OK

My MKWii ISO is :
P0 : MKWii
P1 : Family ski & Snowboard
P1 : Yamaha SuperCross

All working on PAL (yamaha is NTSC, no force)

Hope this will help. I also updated the wiki with my tested games, more to come

Quick update - just found the issue with Pikmin.

Interesting filenames in the FST.BIN
wink.gif

If you look in the data folder for the game there are a few in there that have non-standard characters. This means when I try and extract and save them the filecreate fails. Being the terrible programmer I am, I don't check for the file create error before trying to write it out. The errors are either down to me parsing the fst incorrectly or Nintendo are playing

Nintendo won't play. They always fail at that, so why should they do that again

? I'm shure you'll sort that out

Anyways, today I've tried to make my first Multi-Boot Disc, called Marble-Madness:

Partition 0: Kororinpa2 (NTSC)
Partition 1: Kororinpa (PAL)
Partition 1: Vertigo (PAL)

Tried it on a PAL Wii, 3.2E, modded with a WiiKey 1.9s, with your new Boot.dol. Now, to the results: Vertigo played fine with Multiboot, no Force, recognized my Saves, and even fixed a problem with displaying, which the newest SoftChip couldn't fix (had some black bars). Kororinpa worked also great, recognized saves, played fine. Now to the little problem, Kororinpa2: It's shown in the Disc-Channel, but as soon as I try it to launch, there comes the "An Error occured, please eject the disc, etc..". It works fine with Multiboot, forced 480i. So it wouldn't work anyways with the Disc-Channel, but it even can't try to launch from Disc-Channel...strange...

Just use 4 - it then aligns all the data onto a 4 byte boundary. As all the Wii data offsets are stored as the value divided by 4, it has to be a multiple of 4. It just allowed me to try different allignments.

If you do a google search for "Wii_Multiboot_v1.0-R82_ISO-v2_USA" or "Wii_Multiboot_v1.0-R82_ISO-v2_EUR" then you should find an ISO image with it already installed as a bootable partition.

Hi Dack,

Thanks for picking this up again.
The wiiscrubber 1.40 is working for Guitar Hero World Tour. I changed the IOS from 37 to 35 using partition.bin changer and that worked.

Is there a way to use the multi boot without HBC?
Normally I get boot.dol files to work by replacing the main.dol of an ISO, but for the multi boot dol this doesn’t work
While loading the disk, before the disk is shown in the disk channel, the Wii freezes completely.

This method works for e.g. Gecko OS 1.07a, WAD Installer v2.1 and WAD Uninstaller 1.1

Edit1: Tried to create the ISO using wiiscrubber 1.31, but got same results.
I also replaced the main.dol with the Gecko OS 1.07a dol file. Then the disk works again.

Edit2: Thanks to Cwstjdenobs it is working now. See here for the needed host ISO

WiiPartitionBinChanger will let me sign a partition.bin but not change the title ID. It lets me enter the hex into the fields but doesn't change it. I guess I'm doing something wrong but I can't work out what. I managed to do it with a hex editor though. Thanks in advance

Problem with not having the search working is I never see these posts
smile.gif

You need to click on update before clicking sign in the partition.bin editor.

With Animal Crossing - at the moment it seems to be a non-working game. When I get some spare time I'll look into why.

The extract problem was because some filenames contain double byte japanese characters. For those titles having developed by Japanese Co., it's better running wiiscrubber 1.4 or partition builder 1.1 via applocale in Japanese language. Then, everything would be ok!

Animal Crossing Wii should work if the partition was made by partition builder 1.1.

Thanks Dack and Alpha 0000

I hope this does not sound silly but can you teach how to compile animal crossing using partition builder 1.1 ? or sit there a guide somewhere ?
