Seems like NavadeHo was right all along. -feels silly- Most of the gaming sites I checked were wrong about the cameras. But I initially got my info about it from a Dutch Nintendo magazine and it seems I can't even trust them.

They only use the Sd slot for music and pictures, it's not a win IMO when flashcarts do that, plus videos and the music can actually be MP3 which is easier.
Plus I'm sure if you really wanted to manipulate pictures use photoshop ¬.¬
SD slot is just a worthless Gimmick when you own a flashcart. Thats why I put PSP 4k > DSL > DSi

You can't be serious... Yes, you can blame Nintendo for making crappy hardware, crappy software and games that are too mainstream (although I wouldn't agree with you), but crappy games?! We're talking about the company behind Super Mario, Zelda, Metroid and all these other great games here! I'm not convinced by the Wiis lineup, but most of the titles Nintendo has released so far were a few of the best on any gaming system - titles like Zelda: Twilight Princess, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart Wii. On the DS they made Nintendogs, New Super Mario Bros., Metroid Prime Hunters, Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, Rhythm Heaven etc.

updatable firmware (it makes it easier to brick intentionally or accidentally sort of like how easy it is to brick a psp)
no gba games or ds games the use gba slot
cameras seem kind of gimicky and make me think of ndsimagine
better speakers don't mean much with a good pair of headphones
probably have to update ds to get to online store
online store will probably have high prices for crap
mediaplayer probably sucks and most people have something that can play music much better than the dsi
media player might load slow
sd slot may not me hc compatable
dsiware may not be much better than homebrew and potentially worse depending on if ubisoft makes any
bad battery means less portable and using it to listen to music means less game time

I don't plan on getting it unless there is some kind of special to trade in nds or ndsl to get ndsi cheaper. Like many other I feel the additions are not worth the price increase.

I read on Nintendo's website in that Iwata" Asks" section, they stated that they were both 0.3, which they said was good

but I mean cell phone cameras come in sizes much higher

The reasons I'm getting a DSi:
-I'm up for reviewing DSiWare titles
-I'm trying to shrink my game library (way too big) and the lack of the GBA slot will enforce it, so I see it as a plus
-Honestly, I prefer AAC over MP3 (better compression)
-I'm not stupid enough to update without thinking first
-CFW potential appeals to me
-DSi Browser > PSP Browser > DS Browser
-I'm slowly transitioning away from flashcards, don't ask why, but I am.

The reason I hope a certain classmate gets a DSi:
-The look on his face when his R4 no longer works. Seriously, this guy worships the R4 and says that no other card is better. He needs to wake up.

I don't agree with your DSL assessment because to me the DSL represented a HUGE leap from the DS Phat.
It was much smaller, finally pocketable.
The screens were much brighter with adjustable brightness levels, I remember the DS Phat screen being dark for my liking.
Improved stylus. I know this one is personal but I never really liked the old DS stylus.
In short, it did everything that the original DS could do, improved on it, all while having a better battery life at the same price. For these reasons I bought the DSL very shortly after it came out in the US, the day that it showed up in the store that I was working at to be exact.

With the DSi I don't really see the same improvements:
Yes the screens are slightly bigger and slightly brighter, but at the same aspect ratio, does it really matter?
2 very low resolution cameras, I have no interest in taking crappy photos with my DS as my phone already takes crappy enough pictures
Getting rid of the GBA slot is NOT an advantage. Anytime you REMOVE features it's not an advantage over a predecessor.
SD slot is nice, but what will it be used for? Playing music? I've already got my phone for that.
DSiWare is the only thing I could possibly see myself buying this system for since there is so much potential. But that being said I'm very happy with my DSL as is and it will take a very compelling offering from DSiWare to get me to join up. Something along the lines of a Virtual Handheld just might do it though

I really don't see this as being a huge improvement, especially for the extra $40.

There are dsi-only games, so maybe this is the next leap as NDS was from GBA. Maybe not.
