@Hachibei when it comes to DS it does not matter much (source it, dump it with a simple tool, write NFO, zip it and pre it compared to something like the video scene where some fairly serious knowledge is essential) but as others have said they took up the slack with the lesser know games and others that may have flew under the radar, very few of their releases were nuked and the people that did interact with them were generally positive about the experience.

Not much more you can really ask for from a console group.

wow what a bunch of tossers you lot are.
I wouldnt blame the guy at all for charging for rom releases , it would save me paying full price to find out a game was complete shite ( no offence) id rather pay him and his team a few quid than pay nintendo £30 for a load of crap.

Godspeed SirVG. Your 252 releases, most of which is hard to find and shovelware, have earned a place in history and in our hearts.

Till next time...

QQ more

good riddance
1 less ego cluttering this space

seriously, noone really cares why youre leaving. just as noone cared when i stopped contributing to the "sk33n" many years ago. in a few short weeks, your precious group will be no more than a faded memory that noone cares about. your "spot" filled by another just as pointless "group" thats just as good at dumping crap games as you are.

so plz QQ more....and the rest of these sheep will follow

p.s oh and if you really didnt care you wouldnt have bothered with a goodbye note (aka. one last stroke of the ego)

If no profit is gained from producing roms then why does anyone bother?

Short answer: to impress strangers on the internet.

Long answer: Consistent releases from a release group (be they games, trainers or whatever) build up the group's profile and reputation. Groups race each other to get the best games, release the best trainers and so on (and I can tell you, it's a proper kick in the balls to spend time on a trainer and go to upload it only to find someone beat you to it by minutes -- especially if theirs had fewer options 'cos IIRC having one or two more options wasn't enough to save your trainer from being nuked as a dupe). Back in the day there were monthly scene charts where groups were scored depending on how many releases they'd had in the past month, the aim being to get the most and the best releases out each month in order to score big and -- yes -- impress strangers on the internet. But having said that, a big part of the scene was (and I've been out of it for years so don't really know what it's like now) the camaradarie between groups; we might have been rivals but for the most part things were pretty friendly with plenty of IRC banter going on and you'd give each other shout-outs in crackros and stuff. Good times, man *wipes tear*

It's sad to hear you guys are calling it quits. Thanks for all the releases and all your hard work. I know you've saved the day for me many times with releases that my neices and nephews really wanted. Hell, there were even a few games that I wanted that I'm sure nobody else would dump if you guys didn't do it.

You guys will be missed.
