It's back!

On some Friday nights GBAtemp.net will be hosting a night of gaming action, beginning at 7:00pm-10:00pm GMT-5 (Make sure to check what time it will be in your area with this) Hope to see you there!

Please read: Gamer Nights Announcements

How to join in:

Click here to gain access to the GBAtemp chatroom portal and from there click on "Java applet" and the "Start Applet" button. You'll now be in our #gbatemp.net channel. By typing in the following command: "/j gbatemp-wifi" you will be switched to our WiFi channel where you'll be able to find fellow members to play against.

If you don't have an IRC client we recommend you download mIRC and follow this tutorial (replacing "#gbatemp.net" with "#gbatemp-live").

Once connected, simply state the games you have available for playing and if someone is able to face you, exchange Gamertags.

If you would like to skip IRC altogether, just add the Gamertag: AirDoubloon and join straight in!

Game schedule:
Blur (online multiplayer demo): Friday the 30th @ this time..

Note: The Blur demo can support up to 20 players at one time. Which translates into tons of shenanigans that are involved with racing against so many people. You can only play the demo if you have a Xbox Live Gold account. If you need one, there are a few options for you. You can: make a new gamertag to get a month of xbl gold (search the internet for guides) or ask around for a 48 hour code (everyone has one these days). I hope to see a lot of you join in on this night! ^-^

Rules of Xbox Live Night:
1. GBAtempers only! Unless your xbl friends are nice, intelligent, and not dicks (see rule 2)
2. Don't be a dick, douche or racist.
3. Don't be late; I cannot guarantee that people will be playing past 10pm EST.

Great idea.

Will definitely join, although I am still playing some older games.

I'm by no means trying to say what will and won't be played (that's up to whomever is running the night, more-than-likely Sonicslasher), but i'm sure there will be tons of people on playing all kinds of new and old games at the same time as well. Its just nice to have a SET game theme, so people won't have the "I don't wanna play that, i wanna play this!!" mentality for the entire night. Its a good starting point

(imagine it as an online lan-party. games are announced, so people know what to bring, but who knows what could happen.)

EDIT: And, if i'm wrong with my thoughts here, please correct me. This was an assumption, but if we ARE set on which games to play, that's cool as well

EDIT2: Oooo OOOOO!!! I wanna do a Castle Crashers night sometime soon too. Just because i haven't played it online, at ALL yet, and i REALLY want to! But that's another game, for another night

In your opinion, how many games should there be in a Live Night?

Aren't you going a little overboard, Sonicslasher? This was in the front page, Off-Topic, and now here? We get it, Wi-Fi Night is now for 360 games too.
Not quite like that. Wifi Night is for ds/wii and Live Night is for 360. If you want, you can go ahead and close the other topic in the General chat area.

If we REALLY want to do this in an official way, set it with ONE game per week, preferably one that EVERYONE can play at once (popular game, good multiplayer, good amount of people playing at one time, good time playing) and then it can splinter off into whatever people want to play later on, but its set as ONE game on the docket, so there's less confusion, and less arguing about what to play.

If we want a less formal affair, set it to 3-5 games of choice. People can play as they wish.

I'd honestly recommend setting it to one major game though, that people can join in on, or whatever, as they see fit. TF2, Halo 3, L4D, GoW1/2, CoD4/WaW, mebbe even Burnout Paradise for a change... but just ONE per week (keeping whatever is next on deck for the following so people can see whats coming up in later weeks).

Why are there a limited amount of games? Shouldn't be able to play any game we want? Just think:

person 1: anyone want to play DBZ: BL with me?
person 2: yeah sure, anyone else want to join?
person 3: meh i'll play
person 1: oh wait, it isn't a choice in the poll so we cant play it
quit: person 1
quit: person 2
quit: person 3

Ok they might not quit but playing a selected amount of games would spoil the fun (I'm only using DBZ: BL as a example.)
