UK Gamecube Wii-Remakes Dated
Pikmin & Mario Power Tennis

UK Wii owners will be delighted to know that Pikmin is getting it's Wii remake (basically the GCN game with Wii controls) and will be released on February 6th, 2009. Not only will the game now have Wii remote controls, the save system has been revised

Mario Power Tennis is getting it's "Wii-make" as well and will be released a month later than the Pikmin Wii-make (March 6th, 2009).
The game will also features a new split-screen mode and more camera options.

Nintendo will be releasing seven more Wii-make titles in the future (which you can read about in this article).

Nice! I was kinda hoping they didnt though because I felt all warm and fuzzy inside because I was the only one that had Pikmin Wii and noone else could get it.

the lime green and bright red wiimotes look awesome.
kinda.
they lack the clean and chic look of the white ones though.
theyre the same color as the european ds
is that silver?

Were the power button's on the Wiimotes always rectangular or is that for the UK or something?

do your wii work in the UK without being turned on, because we clearly can't see the red light on the wii ?

Come on people, it's a preproduction picture of the wii with a gamecube logo on the tv...

well i guess this means those who download it/import it will get it before the general American market, since they had projected a march us release (at least for pikmin anyway)

So reading about this on DCemu and they say both titles are going to be full prices games! atleast here in europe................ what gives nintendo?

The games only difference from the GC is that they use the wii controller and perhaps a few small changes .

I actually Photoshopped that picture up quickly because I needed an image to use with the article.
I'll find something to replace that with..later.

Also, they really could do something up nice with doing a Wii-make of Super Mario Sunshine, if you ask me.

Full price? Fuck 'em.

Ok I wasn't gonna buy them anyway, I already paid £30+ for each on the GC but come on Nintendo stop ripping people off.

No ours are LTD EDITION TRIANGLE! in the UK!

oh wait no they are circular like everyone elses!

guessing they are just for the image probably also like the colors remember the promo shots for the pre named Wii the Revolution shots there were multi colored consoles too!

but they never emerged as a store product!

My son's into retro gaming at the minute and just got the gamecube off the eldest one and we have been grabbing up all the Gamecube hot titles for next to nothing ... Gamestation are doing 4 for £20 and a few more grabbed from ebay/amazon etc

We have a Wii too so can play them on that too ... remakes usually flop what are they going to do just add a few fancy movies here and there for the bigger disk and add Wii mote controls seems pointless!

If it aint broke why fix it!

Pikmin was a class game nothing needs to be done for it!

maby revamp and churn out the original GC controller as a wireless unit and your onto a winner for those GC fans out there that prefer the original pad for BRAWL etc

If you notice... those WiiMotes don't have speaker holes either! Those are from 'Revolution' days...

but 2 questions...

When's the US get these remakes?
Is there going to be an option to play with a GC controller, or is it JUST a WiiMote?

You'll see that the WII logo isn't on the WiiMotes, the Nintendo logo is... also, the Nintendo logo is on the Wii at the bottom (blurry, but you can see it)... the + and - buttons are called Start and Select... and they are labeled (as well as HOME)...
