hi im trying to install a driver on my new laptop its 64bit and running home prem
so far i have a desktop and another laptop that are both runnin XP Pro SP3 and they both connect fine to my printer Canon i850
so i tried installing my printer using network method and it detected the printer(which was good)
but when i tried connecting to it it gave a message saying the driver is not correctly installed
i checked the Microsoft compatability site if its x64 compatible and it is
after that i tried looking for vista x64 drivers for Canon i850 but to no avail

i checked the canon website and they have this add on module that add ons to something i dont know

can you guys help me i really need my printer

Make sure it says the software driver on top. I thought I downloaded the right drivers but I found out that I clicked the wrong one and actually downloaded the manual or something. It should be the first one on top, seperated from the other drivers.

yeah
i think i know whats going on
you have to install the driver that came with the printer on the one your trying to print from
i had this error once
or if you right click on the printer icon there should be an add button and that should make it show up when your trying to print your document

The driver shows up on my Vista 32-bit, but not 100% if it'll show up on the 64-bit. If it isn't auto detecting the driver. Try going to Control Panel>System>Device Manager and looking for the exclamation mark for the printer. Right-click it and go to "update driver software" then "browser my computer for driver software". Next, click on "let me pick from a list..." which should pop up a bunch of different types of hardware, go to printers and click next. Scroll down the manufacture side to get to Canon then look for the printer there, it should be "Canon Inkjet i850."
