Hacking Help Defective from Dealextreme.

I bought a dstt from dealextreme, the problem is its clearly defective, i bought over bulk rate of 6 of them, but this one was different from the other ones, it had a big square shaped hole right under the sticker, can i take the sticker off and repair it, there is not enough time to send it back to dealextreme and for them to ship it back to me before christmas so i was wondering what to do?

the 3 ds that i have tried this one, does not even detect it but detect the other 5 dstt perfectly fine.

Contact DX. Usually they won't require that you send back the defective one, and maybe you'll get it before Christmas (unlikely, but you never know).

Have you checked all of them to see if any are fake: http://www.ndstt.com/en/anti_fake.html

Make sure you don't install the latest firmware (1.16) because there are reports that it can destroy certain fake DSTT's.

the problem is its a present and i wont get it back in time, i have spent about a hundreds bucks a couple months ago on dx on other stuff (i spent a couple hundred last year on a crossbow from them too), so they should replace it, since its not my first time buying from them and i have bought a few other flash cards from them (R4, N-Card, Fire Card, EZ Flash IV, Supercard Etc......)

I thought the new ones are supposed to be black? And that looks ridiculous that the mem card sticks out like that!

Surely genuine cards would not be that bad quality? I know your mem slot is on the other side etc, but could it be that the fake card manufacturers have already changed their design?

You would think but the card looks pretty real to me

The new legit cards have a chip on the back side of the PCB. Open the card up and check it against the NDSTT website's Anti-Fake page.

i have just taken it apart its looks exactly like photo above with the black circle and the chip on back.

Dealextreme is very good about replacing faulty and/or fake flash carts, so I have no doubt that they'll replace it. However, whether you'll get the replacement by Christmas is another matter (as you know since you've ordered from them multiple times).

Still, if it's defective there's not much else you can do but get a new one. If you have to have it before Christmas, you could purchase one from another store like realhotstuff.com that ships faster.

If you boot up the TT without a MicroSD card in it, do you get a 'No Card' icon, or does it go to the DS Health screen?
