  • built in 20mb RAM for improvement in game load times and web browser (compared with 4mb RAM like on the DS and 8mb RAM like the DS with the web browser expansion)
  • improved media i.e. different format of game cart which can hold more memory (e.g. UMD)
Not just 20 MB RAM. Hell, the PSP itself has 64 MB, why can't we have something like 128, it's not like RAM is expensive. Also, a flash game cart is fine, and if we do something like UMD, it's going to kill battery life and make much slower loading times.

i'm interested to see how nintendo could pull off an analog stick in a small form factor. no i do not like the PSP nubby

how about a DS2, where instead of folding vertically it folded horizontally, with 2 touchscreens side by side! hopefully with little or no hinge separation.

I think they crapped out on their handheld seeing that the PSP has graphics almost identical to the PS2 and better than most of it's older games and it's size is barely bigger than the DS. I think they can make it's graphics about the same as their Gamecube and still keep the touch screen. I would say improve the graphics and keep the rest of it's features.

-Better CPU
-Digital distribution instead of physical media
-SDHC-compliant
-802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, WPA2 capabilities
-Capacitive touchscreen
-Multimedia support (allow to user to create/download codecs for a greater scalability)
-Embedded web browser with Adobe Flash/AJAX support
-Online mode based on a global Nintendo user account, not friend codes
-Official support for homebrew development
-Camera for wifi-based video-conferencing
-Virtual console support (allow to get a copy of VC games from your Wii)
-Parental control

I might think about something later, but that's all for now.

Very similar to what I want. I think it's fairly reasonable besides video-conferencing, and user created codecs (officially at least). I also doubt we'll see full scale digital distribution. I would like to see them stick with cartridges, but if they do go to disks I think the GameCube disks would be perfect. I remember reading a rumor a while back that they had decided to use those disks in hopes of using them again in handheld form. Probably a pipe dream, but hey, it's what I want.

Oh yeah one other thing that I just remembered... A digitizer capable of multiple touch input. Basically it's starting to sound a lot like a DS + iPod Touch with some PSP mixed in...

Like you already said, "analogue stick located near D-pad for optional alternative use" and using UMD's for games.
But you FORGOT THESE: they should also take out A,B,X,Y and replace them with X,Square, Triangle, and Circle
Oh and maybe they should take out the touch screen too! Man now THAT would be the ultimate system.

when did I say "using UMD's for games."? I said "e.g. UMD" so that people knew I was referring to the media of the game cart and not media as in video's and Music. As for which media, who knows what they'll come up with next? So I used an already existing example, I don't think UMD's should be used because they will slow down load times, and may destroy the portable experience. I think a similar cartridge should be used to the one existing now but one that hold's a lot more memory so more 3D games can be made and also the length of games can be increased as the cartridge can hold more memory.

Nintendo isn't going to bring out a new handheld (soon). Just a few days ago they brought out the new DSi, so why would they try to backstap us and bring out a new handheld? Even if not now, it would be a very big mistake of them and I think they would lose many buyers from them. That's how the facts are!

LOL I wasn't aware the PSP had so much RAM, in that case it should have 128mb RAM
