How to stay awake?

ok. so im having some issues staying awake at night
cuz i do my homework til pretty late
around midnight
and most times
my eyes just get droopy
and i become this half monster half lunatic thing
i write weird answers on my homework
and never remember anything that happens/happened during that period of almost unconsciousness
anyone else experience this?

so how do i stay awake?
of course, the obvious solution is to get some sleep
but
is there something i can do to my body (not something extreme though) or my mind to keep it alert and focused?

I drink tons of Green tea to keep myself awake. Not those nestea kind of Green tea, but those in powder, and tea bags and stuff. Normally, it does help.

Yeah there are a bunch of things you could do to stay up, but none of them are healthy. Take it from an acute insomniac: Sleep. Value the time you rest, listen to your body and just sleep. We often get caught up on things, attributing paramount importance to our duties or entertainment. But in truth life is foremost about preservation. Be it preservation of self or values, we must be properly rested to tackle our uncertain tomorrows.

These are my methods. I usually fall asleep during long bus rides and miss stops, so i just stand up/ sit up straight, look left, right, up down, rotate my head in circular movements. I then loosen my shoulders then rub my neck a bit. Then i can stay awake until the stop comes around

Another way is to drink caffeine (obviously)

When i do homework at night i use headphones and play some loud, jerky music for a few minutes. Yeah, don't listen while actually doing the homework, it will make you write shit, and tap your feet in response to the music. Then you write really fast to match the music's beat, then your homework is shitty. Don't worry, i know.

The best method is to do your homework not at night

Surf the net at night, so the only people who see you (or see your typing) are people who read your posts.

Man, I feel your pain all too often, tinyt. Projects can really be a mother, sometimes.

Anyway, energy drinks, coffee, caffeine, and all that crap doesn't do shit to me. It's like an immunity that sucks, and believe me, I've tried everything.

Whenever your eyes start drooping and you start to nod off, run to the nearest sink and splash ice cold water on your face nonstop until you snap back. This always extends my stamina late at night when I need to stay focused. Never fails!

I also play upbeat music really loudly (techno-ish), usually through headphones. If you work to no sound at all, you hit the pillow fast.

Simplest solution: get off GBAtemp (not forever of course) and do some work as soon as you get out of class.

Since I doubt you'll do that, I suggest you see something that will shock or scare your. Of the top of my head I suggest getting a bouncy ball. Throw the ball at the wall so it will bounce back at your face. Dont flinch! Seriously that should wake you. And NO this isnt some excuse to have balls bouncing on tinymonkeyt's face.

Why are you up so late doing homework anyway? I mean...do you have that much, or do you put it off until late? If the first one...good God, you need to slap your teachers around a bit!

Well a good way to stay awake is to go to a forum and wait for a certain someone to post and swarm in and give that person a lot of attention because that someone is a female. But I'm sure a lot of people here know how to do that.

Go to sleep and wake up early the next day to do it. This way you are tired for doing the things that you want to do, keeping you awake. As an added bonus, all the stuff that you learn from your homework is fresh in your mind for the day in case of a pop quiz or something of the like. I usually do my homework late at night, but once I start nodding off, I just set my alarm and go to sleep, and since I've already done some of my homework, I can more accurately guess how much time it is going to take for the rest of it
