Anyway, orange looks fine. It's a little tough to distinguish it from the red, but that's not a big issue.

Changing it to lime green.

Edit: Okay, that good enough for you, princess?

It looks fine, my servant. Well, it might be a little too......

I don't know if this has been suggested before, but maybe you should have a systematic way of listing down the goal of the project? As in, whether it's a menu patch or a full translation. There are details in the notes sections, but some of the projects do not list it.

@Mac: Haha. very funny. And if you weren't kidding... *aims gun at own head*

@Sendoh: I'm sorry, I'm not quite sure I understand. I just added in a new "feature" (if that's what you want to call them) where projects that are almost complete are a different color... is that basically what you're asking?

Not really. I was talking about the goal or scope of the projects. Like, how some project owners would prefer to do only a menu translation, while others would include translating the script and all of that. Some of the projects do show that, while others do not. It may be good to include something like:

Example
Group: bla bla
Scope: Unknown / Full translation / Menu translation
Progress: bla bla

Something like that. Sorry if I was unclear.

Oh, I get it now. Thing is, a lot of authors don't know where they're going to take the project. Sometimes, they just mean to do a menu trans and end up doing a full trans. Sometimes, the opposite happens. It's really all up to the authors. Besides, I would have to PM every single author and ask them, "Hey...what's your goal for this project?" which honestly I wouldn't mind, but it would be a tad annoying seeing as there are a lot of authors, and they probably don't really know where the project will take them.

Hmm... well, so far I can tell you that I'm having the same problem with Xenosaga I&II. As for SRT, I'll tell you after I finish downloading the ROM.

I just read Noitora's reply on his Mugen no Frontier translation and then I noticed that MnF is listed in concluded. Wouldn't it be better to put back the "frozen" list, like Rod did . I know it's sad putting games in that list, but it is more accurate and better than deleting games (like Tales of the Tempest) imo. And furthermore maybe a mention of the Kumatanchi translation?

I decided to remove the Frozen status because it's basically the same as completed, and I find it better to categorize it. I got rid of Tales of the Tempest because boojumz said so herself/himself that he would not be working on it any longer. There was also no patch released. So what's the point in even listing it if there's no patch and no one will work on it? It's basically a discarded idea. As for Kumatanchi, I haven't seen the thread lately... so I figured it was abandoned. I wouldn't mind adding it though. (I'll do it when I get home)

Hey War, just letting you know that there is enough in the Model Swapping thread to allow up to 66 different character swaps :]

http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=109587

It is just missing 5 characters, and they don't seem to work correctly anyway. So yeah, it's pretty much done! :]

If you wouldn't mind adding it to the list, that'd be cool, haha.

Since I didn't see any direct information within this thread:

From The Romhacking Aerie:
go962.png

XenoSaga I·II
(according to the box art and file header, it is · not + or & as some claim, ALT+0183 for reference)

There is no information as to all those who are working on this nor the percentage of work that has been completed. Like their other projects, Romhacking Aerie doesn't release their works until it's 100% complete.

You should add this to your first post, War.

exactly for the Ys DS trans, progression:
81.8% graphics
51.6% script files
0% compressed text
0% text that is on the bottom screen
that is only about 33.3%, not 50%
Yeah, I was talking about the scripts not the graphics

Being exact looks better than "about 50%"

One thing that just occurred to me.... The sound on the 2600 sucked less back then the harsh sound we hear now is from infinitely better speakers we have now, back when the 2600 was new speakers produced a almost muffled sound, like CRTs made old graphics look slightly better.
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I wonder if I could recommend that to some emulation devs that perhaps the sound could use some smoothing out to simulate those old TVs
  • Psionic Roshambo @ Psionic Roshambo:
I think a few of the early systems could benefit from that, at least up to the 8 bit generation, by the 16 bit generation I think TVs had gotten a lot better in almost every way
