Running through a DVD recorder that is region unlocked might have something to do
with it, I dont know, but Boom Blox NTSC-U works in color on my WII.

NTSC WII
(A/V Red, White, Yellow)

are you saying that YOU are running it through a Region free dvd recorder or asking if i am?
cuz i am not, but if you are, that might make a little more sense.

Ok guys, less talk about wiifrii, and all these other questions. Let's keep the list going because I would like to know what games work 100% with this backup loader with standard cables.

Has anyone got any game working (in color) with a NTSC Wii with using the standard AV cable? If not, the topic title "Backup Loader NTSC/AV Color List" is misleading.

well, thats exactly what we ARE doing, since he said he had boom blox working,

and i can't get it to work with standard cables on an NTSC Wii, that is not working 100%.
and to be clear it was not a QUESTION about wii frii. it was more of a statement.

I didnt think that the dvd recorder would make a difference but maybe it does.
the reason why I didnt think it made a difference is, that some games ran in
black and white...

can anyone else confim that the games at the top of this list work with a standard
NTSC WII with v3.3U firmware and (Red White Yellow) AV cables?

I backed up my copy of Metroid(so I know it's NTSC unless the patcher is changing that) and it shows black and white with standard cables and a black screen with HD cables. I've tried 480i and 480p with component, I can still hear the sound but I get no picture at all.

from what i've gathered so far, the only way to play the backup games in color on NTSC Wii with standard AV cables is if your TV supports PAL also, or if you have some kind of modulation between the Wii and TV. i myself have tested Super Paper Mario, Alone in the Dark, and that Monster truck one, in both PAL and NTSC burns and none work in color on my older TV NTSC Wii and AV cables.
i really don't think theres any other way yet

Has anyone tried to WiiFrii a PAL to NTSC to see if you get color?
might try that later..

actually not a bad idea, worth a shot

i tried that with boom blox but it did nothing.

still worth some other people trying to verify.

So my guess is going to be that it is infact your DVD recorder. I bet if you put up the model of it we can verify that it will display PAL on a NTSC TV fine. So there is another cheap solution for people is to find some sort of pass through, perhaps a VCR or as already shown a DVD recorder.

it could also be the iso's. i'll bet that some of the piratebay and demonoid iso's are originally PAL and just patched to ntsc and released as USA roms. there are like 8 different boom blox iso's on piratebay.

also, i wonder how the dvd recorder connects to the tv..

it is indeed my DVD recorder that is making "Some" wii titles output to color
I hooked the Wii to my TV and the titles that were Color are now Black and white.

My DVD Recorder is a Phillips 3390 Which I unlocked for Region free mode
with a code I got on a site (Cant remember where, but im sure google will find it)

Sorry about the missunderstanding, now the mystery is, why is some working and
some not?

Should you probably edit the title or your first post to mention this so people don't get confused.

the reason why its working with his dvdrecorder is cause he got the S-Video out put to his tv .. so the a/v cables from the wii goes thru the dvdrecorder and then out puts to SVIDEO which is like componet cables that hd tv use and other types of tv
