At the very very least, this will be a webkit-based cross-platform fluid web browser.

I guarantee Adobe will fuck something up when flash is introduced.

Edit: Windows only for now. Meh.

I think I'm going to like this... Google's services are very good, and I like to see an integration of these services with a browser. Firefox does a fine job, but it's not perfect.

... Damn, that sucks. I was hoping that Google would be smart enough to release a Linux- and MacOS-version too...

I'll admit it, I didn't read the whole comic at first. Now that I've read the whole thing, OMG!!11 I'm super excited about it now. Everything they're planning on doing just makes sense. So much so, I'll definitely be using this browser for a week or so and see how I like it. It'll definitely get more then a "fair test trial" from me.

Why is this application downloading the entire internet?

But seriously though, this is very exciting. Some of he things Google has thought of should have been a part of browsing for a while now. For example, seperate javascripts on every tab rather then one tab causing the entire browser to lag.

The beta for the Windows version is due to be released on September 2, 2008. Google will host a press conference that day at 18:00 UTC (11:00 am PDT). Mac OS X and Linux versions are under development and will follow the Windows version.[2][3][4]

It might be released during that press conference.

Nice, this is coming out at the right time, next year will be my first year living on my own. So I'm buying a laptop by then. This is the browser of the future, lets hope the Mozilla community jumps on this, and will keep on competing for having the best browser.

Internet Explorer, you're dead!

IE has been dead ever since Mozilla released Firefox.

You have to remember, we're 6 or 7 hours behind the US, so over in the US it's only 10 or 11am.

I got IE FF, Opera, and netscape, the only one i really use is opera, it got everything, it works best, it's the fastest etc, there's no point in using any other browser really.. (i'll look into the google browser though..)

I like the fact that your operating system can reclaim the used memory of a tab once it's closed. Instead of how Opera and Firefox does it, where the program retains the memory until you close the process entirely.
