I already bought the 360 version since the first year I've had that, but I'll probably have to give this one a look as well, just because of the Call your Shots feature, and because I've had the 07 and 08 Wii versions and would love to see if this one fixes their issues.

Been really looking forward to this... got about 30 minutes left in the download. I really can't wait.

EDIT: Just played 30 minutes worth. First did the tutorial levels... using the classic (non all-play) controls... the controls haven't changed too much except few additions. Then I played one quarter of a quick match, I returned the first kick off for a TD, but then the AI dominated me to a 21-7 lead at end of quarter. Then I moved on to the new 5 on 5 mode... this is a great way to jump in and play a quick 10-15 minute game. I really am happy with the results of Madden 09 Wii. I'll look in to further features (see how they compare to the main console release).

Yes online is working. I haven't played a game online, but I was able to get the roster update this afternoon which places Farve on the Jets.

I just bought this game yesterday. Its pretty good, but the learning curve is kinda big since its my first Madden I've played on the Wii.

I don't understand American Football.
It looks really complicated with all those rules and whatnot.

It's a great sport, but you're right it's hard to get into. It's not like watching the Olympics where you instantly know what's going on.

I learned the rules by playing video games - the old Tecmo Bowl for NES, then I went to play on a team in high school. My younger brother learned by playing Madden.

So yeah, I recommend sports games before trying to enjoy the sport on TV

The Wii's 5v5 mode is arcade-friendly so the rules aren't exact, but it captures the "spirit" of the game, just like Tecmo Bowl did, and I think makes a great introduction to the sport as a whole. Give it a shot.

The only thing that makes thing game good is the online, and for some reason that was left out of ncca 2009 making the game worthless.

It's a major game, but I think it appeals to a different type of player than those in the "scene."

If you look at the Wii version compared to the 360 or PS3, this is the worst one of the 3. Looks like PS2 graphics to me. Well...got this one for free, but sadly I'll have to go buy a real copy for a REAL console.

I was not comparing the graphics to the 360 or PS3, but if you do play those versions and compare them to this one....Wii loses
