Yah I keep getting pounded in Zot too, but at least I know why. Nothing I can do about it though which sucks as what gets me and only gets me is that damn maelstrom ice spray those frosthounds do. Even at my levels (30-31) 3 of the 5 get knocked down into yellow low health range and it sucks. I'm planning to ignore the online guides and just powerleveling the crap out of them to like lv 35 or better.

Ok guys, I need a bit of help:
I want to try a save file I got from Gamefaqs, but it's from the Japanese version, and it's from Action Replay Max DS.
The save is here : http://www.gamefaqs.com/portable/ds/save/939425.html
I tried Shuny's web converter and used it with the ROM, but when I launch the game on my CycloDS, the game overwrites the save file and makes a new one :/
Also, if by chance, any kind soul has a save file from anywhere in the Lodestone Cavern/Troia to anywhere in the Tower of Zot, I'd be very thankful if I could get it

Well 1st of all i will look for a save file for u that might work and i might get to the part you aretalking about 2marow so if u can w8 till then(This is only a "might" not sure)...
You can also try using the save file I linked and tell me if it works for you.

Yah that's my beef. The difficulty makes it quite interesting, but they did screw up a few of the standard enemies just making them stupid cheap such as the frost dogs. Thing is, if I do level up to that rate I said it'll make the rest of the dungeon stupid easy and the boss no big effort at all which really defeats the point of it.

I think the point is to make you run, and this happens again and again in the future. You don't have to kill everything you see, alright?Vampire Hunter D said:

I tend to level up even on the FF2 SNES cart outside an area (or in this since you can leave most) just inside well higher than needed with quick fights and then just bomb through it. The bosses though tend to muck stuff up because they now all have some annoying cheapo attacks if you hit them with a move that logically should work. Crap I did something wrong with the augments and now I didn't get Cry and Kain is stuck with Item Lore which he can't use
Oddly enough I haven't bothered with augments yet, didn't see a point. Yes I know they can help, but up to where I am even now I have yet to use one (going up the tower to Lugae/Balnab.) I've just played the SNES one so many times, then a deep unfinished shot into the PSX and GBA copies I just kind of know what to do, but even then the bosses are just sadistically messed up.
