I'm not a fan of NES but would like to say - AMAZING work you did there.

Keep it up!

Very impressive work here.

I'm 23 and NES was released in 1985 so yeah. I started with System Master. Ages ago!

EDIT: Just remembered something - I actually started with Atari console - can't remember which series. Q*bert was my first ever game. Good times.

just to be sure here are you guys talking about Mother (J).nes or Earth Bound (Prototype) (U).nes? Mother isn't in the original list because it is completly in Japanese so I did not toy with it at all.

pizzapasta did originally say Earth Bound Zero, which is Mother.
The one I used was "Earthbound Zero (Demiforce v1.01-2 Hack).nes". Eathbound Zero is a hack of the unreleased English version of Mother. "Earthbound (Prototype) (U).nes" is the unhacked version. AFAIK, the translation was only mostly finished, so Demiforce just finished the job.

I'd imagine that this workaround would apply to any version of the game that freezes when you start a new game, but I've only tested the one rom.

thanks for the info. i wondered how that unreleased game fit into things. i've noticed that a few of the prototype rpgs for nes were english translations never released. i'll hunt that patch down now and give it a try.

Thanks for the list!

For some reason you have the Qix roms in both lists, but they should just be in the first list.

The Klax (J).nes rom does work for me. The screen flashes after a few seconds when the Japanese comes up, but I just hit the B button and it starts playing.

Also, not sure that I would say that the Mike Tyson's/Punch-Out games are "not worth playing." It's a bit annoying that you can't see the details at the top of the screen during the fighting, but other than that the graphics glitches don't really influence the game play. I just alter the display to get rid of most of the top of the screen so that I don't have to see it so much.

still haven't gotten around to doing the earthbound zero test =/

i fixed the list for the double post of Qix. tested Klax (J).nes and yea it does seem to play so that has been updated as well.

as far as MTPO goes i grew up on that game, still own my originl cart. while the graphic issues are debatable i personally feel its not worth playing. i never did state it doesn't run =)

cheers,

This emulator can't run Super Mario Bros properly which is pathetic.

whats the problem you might ask? it runs overclocked which kills the handling of the game.

and to the maker of NESDS please get it Fixshhhhhhhd! because what good is a NES emulator if it can't run the NES's number 1 classic?
the framerate needs to be fixed so its slower and more normal

Are you using the PAL version, or the NTSC version? NesDS plays the PAL version at 60 FPS, which should actually run at 50 FPS. If you want a proper 60 FPS download the NTSC version

Even if he did, he is right in that the problem is on your end. Get a (JU) version of the game and it will run at normal speed. Also make sure you don't get a bad dump of the game, or else it will start at world 0-1 (yes, 0-1, not the minus world) instead of the normal 1-1. While you can fix this by holding A while pressing Start, the better solution is to get a verified good dump of the game.

Uh there IS no other version anywhere on the net, Unless you want Mariobros.NES which is actually a rom thats been hacked with a shitty underwater level that ends the game at the end.

the European version is the only working ROM in existence as far as knowledge is concerned.

Every ROM site on the net except one gives you Mariobros.NES under Super Mario Bros
which is the hacked rom thats full of shit, only one site had a proper rom that was Super Mario Bros1.NES

You are too much! Try a Duck Hunt/Mario Bros Rom. That's what I use and I see no problems. The EU Rom is not the only unhacked rom in existance.

Chill out.
