Hacking Generic Wii Iso Partitions Extractor/Rebuilder

Hello,

This is "my" generic Wii ISo Partitions extractor/ Rebuilder.

Working with all wii iso files i hope (except smash brawl...but see below), i use the original partition tables.

I added a specific extractor for Smash Brawl DVD9 (check the box for extract and rebuild ) WARNING you need 17 go free (14 partitions + rebuild).

With this little utility you can extract separetly all partitions, then you can open this partitions with Trucha and make modifications.

Useful with Mariokart and maybe with future nintendo games...

The orginal iso is not modified.

1 - click on EXTRACT PARTITiON
2 - Choose Wii ISO
3 - Wait................................

4 - You get x iso : partitionx.iso / partitionx.iso / partitionx.iso .....in the

same directory

5- you can use Trucha with this x iso.....

6 - Click on REBUILD PARTITION
7- Choose rebuild.inf
8- Wait................................> new iso : rebuild.iso on the same

directory

9 - Burn and Play: rebuild.iso

WARNING : you need 9,5 go free (3 partitions + rebuild)

Tried on WiiFit Jap
something seems to be wrong with the 3rd partition (which is the game itself)
trucha hangs if I open partition3.iso
but 1 & 2 works fine
Is there anything I can do to help you debug it?

Hmm... so we can extract the partition that installs the Mario Kart Channel and insert our own homebrew channel or unencrypted VC game?

i have not wii fit...i can't try, but you can help me

if you can, open wiifit iso with Winhex

go to offset : $40000 (hexadecimal adress) and copy hex data like this :

These values are good compared to the partition table. For the moment I have no idea.

Trucha is file count limited IIRC. Try loading the iso up in another app that doesn't have the limitation to see if it is read correctly.

what are the alternative tools of trucha?

p.s. just tried openning partition3.iso with wiiscrubb
It can read the ISO

I finally found a version of Wiiftit Jap, extraction is good but trucha can't open the partition 3.

I tried with Wiiscrubber 1.1beta, it's working, opens and reads the partition 3 without problems.

I think there is a bug with Trucha.....

I expect the next release (wiifit pal 24/05) to make another test.

I'm trying to use your program to swap the order of the installer and data partitions around on wii fit (to see if it fixes the problem with wiifree chips). Any hints as to how to do this?
