I haven't heard anything about voter fraud or a storming of the capital by his supporters.

But he DID use government and state resources to blatantly benefit his party to a point it was comical. Even with that huge advantage over anybody challenging his power, he still lost a supermajority.

When the people giving campaign endorsements are Putin, Netanyahu, Trump, and JD, you reeeeeeeeeeally need to look at yourself and ask "Am I one of the bad guys?"

One thing to note here why this is so important. Is Hungary IS the blueprint that project2025 is based on.

Trump, heritage, all of them have repeatedly gone to Hungary for planning and meetings and shit.

Additionally Orban took power, by taking the worst parts of the USSR's government, and modifying it so that way it could plausibly work under a more democratic system. To then keep himself in power.

I'm cautiously optimistic here. Orban was always the antithese within the EU. Very glad he's gone, i just hope we can cooperate more as an actual union rather than having one or two countries veto-ing everything (ahem... The uk wasn't exactly invested in a mutual future before they left).

Sure, Trump or Vance endorsing Orban isn't much something any non-maga want to be seen with, but i doubt it's much of an influence. I mean... Have you seen this doozy? :P

Yeah... The eu is an evil, bureaucratic mess... But that's no reason to spend the money on something so hilariously stupid.

Bye Bye Orban, hope they put you in jail.
He lost to a supermajority despite voter fraud and his own version of Jan 6.
I've heard of voter fraud ACCUSATIONS. not of actual fraud (not easy to prove so close after election), and nothing of something resembling an insurrection. It's rather unlikely, as this is far more a landslide victory than any recent us election. So... Not to say you're wrong, but do you have sources? :)

It'll be interesting to see NATO voting for sure. Hungary was constantly causing issues with blocking important votes. I think they stopped Ukraine from joining as well.

Really not lol

As i said, it was on the xitter grapevine - the ballot fraud, at least, because the gerrymandering and corruption are absolutely real and have already been extensively demonstrated.

Some of us don't visit the toxic rumor cesspool that is Xitter (BlueSky's also questionable, last I heard, but it's honestly the eventual fate of all social media). Unless you can link an article from an unbiased source confirming, it's best to treat it as hearsay unless someone posts unedited images or something.

While the latter is true, it's not like Ukraine will join nato soon. Perhaps without the war, but as it is, the membership would put us at direct war with Russia.
Besides... Magyar is more pro-eu, but will vote against the membership as well.

lol, Hungary's election is just center right, right wing, and far right. I have a few friends in Hungary, and they voted for Tisza, because they got sick of the corruption, and hated having Russia control their country. They want Hungary to improve relations with the west, because Russia is a shitty ally.

I dont really care if it is treated as "hearsay" because this is not a courtroom.

However... anyone who followed this election, and Hungary in general, would know.

Both very valid and undeniable points.

Finally, let make new European Vacation sequel to make Chevy Chase as actor to visit Hungary, Poland, Czechia and Romania.

It's probably not intended, but it comes across as insulting. Hungary isn't a decor for a dumb movie. Besides: this shift is geopolitical. The country is just as beautiful as before the election.

What??? I didn't expect my joke post to be insulting.

European Vacation is comedy film about family trip to Europe and it is intended to make audience laugh.

Joke aside, I noticed that Western Europe is overrepresented and Central Europe as underrepresented.
