Running homebrew obviously causes a crash. I imagine that's because they have to be recompiled.
They work for me, but not in applet mode. It's an Atmosphere/libnx issue. This is how I tested. I compilied the latest Atmosphere 22 support branch, but tested on 21.x.x firmware instead of 22.x.x firmware. The same crashes happened in 21.x.x. Howbrew worked fine if launching via a nsp forwarder so it wasn't running in applet mode, but would cause a craash when trying to launch hbmenu in applet mode or by pressing the trigger. Hbmenu worked just fine from a forwarder though and so did all my other homebrew. One thing that's changed though is control.nacp has changed for some games, libnx is being updated for this and so is Atmosphere so probably it's best to wait until it's been fixed before messing about with updates. Some homebrew needs updated to support this change in control.nacp. Things like game installers or programs that read the game names/publisher data will probably need updated but it shouldn't be hard to do that.

I also tried launching it in non-applet mode, it doesn't crash but it still gives an error. This is on firmware 22.0.0.

The best advice is to just use 21.xx for now as only 2 game updates so far need 22.x as far as I know. Zelda BOTW and SMB Wonder. Maybe some more nintendo published game updates as well, but I didn't check. There's quite a few people working on this for now so just be patient. You should make a spare backup emunad for testing stuff until you know everything has been fixed.

Development update:
Progress is currently focused on restoring homebrew compatibility. A change in how AM manages the applet/application ecosystem created a problem for hbmenu and libnx. Closing down service handles or domains (specifically for ILibraryAppletProxy or IApplicationProxy) now triggers a cleanup operation which in turn signals an event that qlaunch is waiting on (which is problematic due to the homebrew ecosystem diverting from the expected way to exit).
Reasearching the issue and figuring out a good enough solution is currently the top priority.

Im hoping the fix will be faster these days with access to AI for some help

any full tutorials on downgrade fresh eummc to 21.2. theres some on youtube but they basically sort of skip precise parts for the options to pick for eummc. i dont want to make a mistake and touch the sysmmc.

unfortunately I bought a used Switch with a 22.0 system and whoever installed the chip didn't check first  is there a way to get a pre-release at least to start the switch for my daughter?
You can try my build

The solution is already available if you have updated to 22.0.0 and your emummc no longer starts. Extract the warmboot with Sthetix's payload and start the emummc via fusee.bin

heres hoping that an atmosphere release for 22 will be done around the 28th of april. apearently the ys celceta game will need 22. just hope it won't be a pain geting homebrew to work on 22. wish there was a way to have emummc on 21 running atmosphere and stock on 22

cant find the post or link for the detailed instructions to do this.

No. Update Hekate. Boot stock or syscfw from Hekate. It won't actually start but it will get far enough. Restart. Your warmboot is now updated.

A fix is being worked on by hexkyz, fincs et al, everyone (including me this week) seems to be somewhat busy, so things have slowed down. It's just a very unfortunate roadblock.
I bought a Switch to install Atmosphere. I want to know about the possible compatibility with version 22, to provide a reference for whether I should keep the Switch (thank you very much to your team for your selfless efforts, I am just a bit anxious, games are too expensive now, buying the Switch already cost a lot, my daughter and I are both very excited). Thank you again for your efforts.

You would hope that, with the help of AI, you could do it yourself.

This is all it takes: "Update Atmosphere to work with HOS 22"

have anyone tested sys-botbase on 22? I know you have to use incomplete atmosphere build and latest hekate.

Just my guess: sysmodule is not an applet so your fear is unfounded :)

PS: You’re probably better off using dmnt.gen2, since it’s part of Atmosphère—you’ll never have to worry about not having it.

Unsure why you would all risk your consoles trying something that has already been explained as not working.
