Hello again, everyone!

I'm Brand Newman, and as some of you already know by now, am an amateur hacker who likes to, either translate Japanese Wii games to English, or convert Game Boy titles to color!

After releasing "Tiny Toon DX" at the end of 2025, I've decided I'll be working on its sequel, "Montana's Movie Madness", for 2026!

Here's an early screenshot of the title screen, with graphics successfully replaced : as usual, I'll be updating things from time to time here, so if you'd like to replay this old classic in colors, just wait for a few months (OK, maybe a little more... but my experience on the first should come in handy).

Take care, and stay tuned!

Yours truly.

PS : if you want to know about all my previous projects and how to download them, just look at the trailers on my Youtube channel in the description. :)

That’s great news — I’m really happy to hear that, because your last patch was honestly excellent! I’d be more than happy to volunteer as a beta tester 😉

Montana's Movie Madness is so freaking hard and is not like anyone was renting Gameboy games.

Still I like the game anyway.

Which is why marc_max released this hack to make the game less frustrating: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/8994/
It restores the password function and a few more things from the Japanese version.

And from what the title screen shows, it seems Brand has based his DX colorization on this hack, which should make up for truly the definitive version of the game.

I can confirm Marc has given me his authorization to use his modified version of the game : I'm using this one for my colorisation project.

Cool, the game was really hard on the English version, when really no place was renting Gameboy games, the best you could get was being allowed to try it for a few minutes if it was used.

Successfully added overlay to the sprite. This is gonna need redrawing, as well as some research, since the game stores the number of tiles used for each frame, which ends up in parts disappearing now (for example, I replaced $08 with $0B here). But I'm getting there!

Off to a great start!

I know a lot of you love the game. And just like the first one, I want to touch the graphics as little as possible, but Buster's sprite has always felt a bit "rough" to me, to the point that I didn't think like he was recognizable. So I gave him his teeth back. Forgive me!

Seeing this WIP image, somehow it'd be cool to have this: A monochrome game where only the character sprites are in color. :D

Kind of was the same case when the creator of Kirby's Dream Land 2 DX showcased Kirby in color and the rest black and white for the first time.

After Brand will show us the colored stages, I'm sure you'll change your mind.
