I'll give £500 if anyone can port Twilight Princess or Total Overdose
I will gladly add your wage to the list but can you specify? 500 for both or each? And Total Overdose you mean this project? https://github.com/Michael0ne/TOD_tools . Otherwise I think anything that is not reverse engineered is outside of scope for devs - porting already possible stuff is enough. Same goes for Marc Ecko which I assume was not reverse engineered (yet). My suggestion is put one or both Zeldas as Twilight Princess is almost ready atm and will definitely be possible

The Banjo port will happen eventually
Good. I will pay out or donate to the devs after that happens

Yeah, that's the one I mean, who is in charge of the Twilight Princess Port?
There is nobody working on Switch port yet. PC comes first. Can you please specify your bounty offer so I can edit first post with your offerings? 500 TP and 500 Total Overdose?

Hello gentlemen,

...
I've been often thinking about doing this too. Not for Switch homebrews in particular but in general for projects I would love to see getting done, like this one (probably my "most wanted" currently):

However I'm not under the illusion such a thing would be done by someone because I offer 20 bucks or so.
Instead it would make sense to start a crowdfunding bounty. I throw in my 20 bucks. It probably wouldn't change much. But then someone wants to have that done too and throws their 15 bucks on top.
If that adds to something like 100 or 200 bucks, it's still not "worth" the time of a dev but at least a motivition if someone wanted to do it anyway and might push it forward on their priority list.

There's no good platform for these software request bounties. At least I didn't find one yet.

I am open to suggestions. I guess your request does not apply to Switch?

a bully port would be great indeed
Throw some money towards it then :-)

Currently not in a financial position to do so, but will in the future undoubtedly.
A quick question though: how does the bounty system work ? by that I mean: if I for instance say I'll add 50 bucks to the pot for Bully, I'm not actually paying anything now, just promising. How and when do donation promises get inforced? Is there some sort of intermediate / escrow ? does the dev get payed to do the job, or once the job is done ?

This particular request is for a translation hack of a PSX game but there's also stuff I'd like to see on the Switch so we still need some generic kind of crowd bounty site for that. I dunno any though.

Thats a great question, so far its a thing of honour - you promise, you will be asked once we get there, meaning it is released and working as said in OP. Hopefully we get bounties working via some donation site but maybe N will want to shut it down.

I mean, I guess crowdfunding platforms do actually exist. But I imagine anyone creating a kickstarter for delivering a port of Twilight Princess to Switch is likely to get an unlikely visit from a ninja. Maybe this sort of honour system is the best.

Not sure about bounty sites, bug bounties are usually offered by companies.

Yep, thats what I think basically as well. If you come up with a solution, just ping me. And if you want to add to bounty just post in thread :-)

Not Kickstarter, but there is an app called "spoil me" which is invite-only, designed for friends to donate or crowd fund for gifts for people's birthdays, could be less hot as only people with a link shared from the user that created the wishlist can see what they are raising money for. maybe could be repurposed for crowdfunding for these bounties?

There was a media player some years ago I used for a while that was made for a bounty, I forgot what exactly it was called
Bounty was not for media player, but video decoder supporting NVDEC for hardware acceleration. Such decoder was made and put to working video player. Iirc bounty was somewhere around 500$ before decoder was made.

I figured they were talking about pplay. This also wasn't made for a bounty (nothing ever has).
