No-one who didn't see Star Wars, in the cinema, in 1977, can truly appreciate it, as they don't have the correct perspective.

You aren't able to see how it stood out against what else was around at the time.

It's like I'm not old enough, for example, to truly appreciate Psycho ... the original, not the shoddy Vince Vaughan effort ... in the same way that someone who saw it in the cinema, when it first came out, can.

I love the series.
It's so dern creative and interesting.
The action is great too! *swings imaginary lightsaber*

I've got the original series and watch them every now and then.

Don't diss the original three Star Wars...
Though, I can see how some folks don't like Star Wars Episodes 1 - 3

Episodes I, II & III were bullshit merchandising scams, that Lucas only bothered to make because he'd been talking them up for so long ... and no frickin' way were they written back in the 70s, as he claimed.

He only waited so long to make them because he was waiting for the contracts he had with his original backers to expire, so that he wouldn't have to cut them in on the new movies.

He claims it was for the effects technology to exist that would allow him to make his dream manifest, but it was all about the cash.

1 and 2 sucked ass and can easily be avoided. 3 was okay just cause it really gets you stoked for 4,5, and 6. I HATED 6 for a long time but cut out the Ewoks and its really good. Regardless 5 is my favorite.

I think Robot Chicken had better parodies then Family Guy IMO.

LOR is my g/f's favorite movies and while they are long, if you (like me) read the books then they were amazing to see come to the big screen.

Godfather 1&2 were brilliant. It is a shame that organized crime has gone so downhill in America.

And I am 28, didn't see Godfather or Starwars till 1996 and enjoyed them all. Star Wars 4 took a few runs (kept falling asleep) but once I got to Episode V I went back and really enjoyed IV.

These titles really are hit and miss amongst viewers

I saw them for the first time somewhere between when episode 1 and 2 came out, when Sky got the rights and started showing one per week. I quite liked them, even Episode 1 which I know loads of people hate. Episode 2 was complete and utter crap until the end. And I haven't seen 3 (just haven't gotten around to borrowing it yet).

You're not that bad I had a classmate...I'll just paraphrase the event...

(This was in a physics class)
Teacher: So what do we have to do here?
Student A: Use the force?
-Class chuckles-
Clueless Student: What's so funny?
-Moment of silence-
Teacher: Yoda? Darth Vader?
Clueless Student: Who are those?
-Moment of silence-
Teacher: Star Wars?
Clueless Student: What's Star Wars?

Godfather is over-rated, but still quite good, LOTR is just pure unadulterated pish, Rocky is not my thing but is still an ok film. Star Wars and Indiana Jones are some of the best films ever made, make sure you watch them all
