i just bought an already modded wii today as second hand, it has alot of games but not my fave from my childhood (m&s olympic 2012) and some other great titles. so i wanted to add some knowing it is pretty easy to do so. but i couldnt open the hard drive my wii came with on windows folders. ive now transferred all the games from the hard drive to wbfs format as i saw someone saying i should do that. they also said to format the hard drive after. but my question now is, is it safe t format the hard drive after only putting the games on a wbfs format?

As long as you have your games backed up to wbfs files then you can format the hdd to fat32 32kb and then use wii backup manager to put the wbfs files back on your newly formatted hdd and to add new games.

If your HDD is formatted in WBFS, you can format it back to fat32 with Wii Backup Manager.

DO NOT format it back to fat32 with the Windows Disk Management tool, as it may corrupt the HDD.

I've not heard that one before. Windows disk management can't format to fat32 if the hdd is larger than 32gb though, so probably a moot point either way
