if you live in the USA you have NTSC-U
if you live in Japan you have NTSC-J
if you live in Europe you have a PAL system

waninkoko: please hear my request to add your own regions channels for people with broken channels

That's harder to do because I need to add the contents. The executable would be MUCH bigger and probably illegal to distribute.

Sounds good. Dublicate channels don't really give any trouble to me, but it's nice to get them removed.
btw. Could we use this method to put channels on wii. Like homebrew channels : p

could we not extract the contents from an ISO that contains the update? the tool would not be illegal then

What do you mean "this method"? There's only one way of manipulation channels, and that's to write to the Wii flash, which can be done by Wiifuse, or a homebrew. However, all channels have to be signed, and with Trucha signing being disallowed soon, Homebrew channels aren't going anywhere.

go to the wii options menu and go into wii settings
in the top right corner it should say "3.2U" for USA or "3.2E" for PAL

i thought that doesnt mean anything?
mine states 3.2U but for all i know its a PAL and i updated it with a USA patch
or something and that caused me to have the dual channels in the first place

Get the US patch to remove the dual channel. Have you done yet?

I'll explain what my tool does.

1. It modifies channel TMD to remove all its contents.
2. It also modifies title version to make the Wii think we have a veeeeeeeery high version installed.

Also, I'm waiting for some cool functions to be developed by marcan to improve this application.QUOTE(waninkoko @ Mar 23 2008, 01:57 AM) Basically the real channels will disappear (but I can make it appear again

).
Do you delete the TMD or just empty its content without removing the file completely ?
if it's just emptied, the channels are still here but not printed on the Wii Menu, right ?

How do you enable them back ? You fill in the content again or create a new TMD file (which will have to be signed, anyway) ?

Well, if you're not sure, maybe you could try this WiiTracker page...? Just compare your console's serial number to what it says... Hope this helps...

I'm also slightly worried about this, does this fully remove the channels or just hide it? Because what if Nintendo blocks it? There's been nothing to block duplicate channels so far, but if talk of homebrew channels being blocked is true, then surely this could cause problems?

My wii set has 3.1J firmware and when I load the Wii_Channel_Remover_JAP iso, the program hangs with error dump code message.

Do I need to update my jap wii to 3.2J to remove the duplicate channels successfully?
