If u download a good SSBB iso , then u can burn it successful, try to look for this SSBB iso wiisos-ssbbT
this version works fine, I am use winkey 1.9 and use imgburn to burn it.

Same issue and I resoled it using the Verbatim DVD+R DL RW rather then the regular DVD+R DL media.

DVD+R DL RW? Is there even such thing?

There is such a thing as DVD-/+RW DL discs, but as far as I know JVC is the only one that makes them and I'm not even sure of a burner that can write to them. They're made for the JVC DVD camcorders.

Also, they're supposed to be not very reflective so I'm surprised the wii will even read them. Is that really what you used?

I've been playing the Japan release for awhile now, couldn't get retail US NTSC to play on my wiikey, so I grabbed the ntsc scene release and loaded up ssbb.
Is there any way to transfer my save over from the japan version?

Memorex DVD+RDL (ricoh d0-01)2.4x discs bought at staples imgburn burnt at 2.4x
Wii sitting upside down with white ports covers to wii coming out the top

Working with one minor skip during opening, so far all other videos play fine.

I got the same problem. I bought 20 DVD DL wasted already 2, these things are real expensive. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP US.

I have a PAL Wii, and I picked up a legit US copy of Brawl & a PAL Wii FreeLoader for £40 ... and that was including next day postage ... totally worth it.

Not preaching to people to buy original or anything ... just saying.

I got the same problem. I bought 20 DVD DL wasted already 2, these things are real expensive. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP US.

You need to try different discs. I think the higher speed discs will have a higher success rate. Try to find a 3 pack of 8x DVD+R DL discs. I think the 2.4x ones are inferior. Memorex 2.4x discs worked a lot better for me; They cost 15 US dollars for 3, while the Verbatim 2.4x cost 6 dollars. So sometimes you get what you pay for. The discs are fine though, it is just the Nintendo Wii and most other gaming consoles have weak lasers.

It sucks buying all these discs, but it's best to find out what media your Wii likes now, because there is bound to be more games that are DVD9s.

hi all! success story time!

okie, my setup:
wii 3.2J with wiikey 1.9g
MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E (the one that macbooks have, i think they havent changed it for any newer revision of the macbook [mine is 2.16])
verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4X (it says up to 6X with high speed dvd-r dl drive) (Made in INDIA)

anyhow, i wiibrickblockered it, and used the generic wii patcher on it. After that's done, i proceeded to try burning with imgburn with layer break (i dont know if i used the layer break thing correctly, but i just went to user define n plugged in the number). it burned till 95% n it tells me i/o error, media something something (i dont remember anymore, i burned it late last night). i tried again without layer break, and it works!

note: burned at 2.4X (which is max)

note: i used a jap version of ssbb to update first (as per instructed by wiki gbatemp. may i add that site ROCKS!

Hey there, I have a problem that I haven't heard of before:

Today I finally got my Wiikey into my Wii, but even though the flashing and update worked fine the config-disc would give me an error.
So I downloaded Freeloader, used it and tried to play Brawl. Now here's the problem:
It was in black & white/graytones. The game itself works just fine, it's just that it doesn't show any colors.

Help please?

Edit: I'm using a PAL-Wii and the japanese Brawl btw.

did u look at this site?

the jap version of brawl is listed as Dairantou Smash Brothers X. it doesnt list your problem, but maybe if u follow those instructions it will fix it?

hm.... i dont know, the black and white issue sounds like its becuz it was NTSC... maybe the patches that u used are flawed? (assuming u used some conversion program... my wii is NTSC so i am not too sure how to make it do pal stuff =/)

anyways only thing i can say is maybe totally reburn your copy and try again from the very beginning (update wii to latest regional firmware, i tihnk its 3.2 right now) or try an english version of brawl, cuz that seems to have a better record as described by the wiki site.

or u could want for some pros to answer =)

Hey people.. i am stuck at the adventure mode at the MAZE part.. help! I kept on going back to the same place. I have gotten 2 portal on the main room already.
1 on the top left and 1 on the bottom right..

I noticed some glitches in the game:

In the Warioware stage, when summoning Andross Assist Throphies inside a mini game he disappears when the stage turn back (the pixel attack continues, but he disappears).

Link/Toon Link final smash is cancelled sometimes, wonder why.

all final smashes are canned if you don't use them after some time

Or maybe the opponent jumped as the final smash was done. Lots of final smashes require you to be directly in front of your opponent.

Gah, I'm sorry asking the same question again... I hope my question can finally be answered...

For those of you who live in the US and have had the Japanese version of Brawl, can you now connect "Random Matches" online? Now that the US servers of Brawl are up, I would imagine having the Japanese version wouldn't matter, as long as there's a connection point... Would someone with a Japanese Brawl living in the US be so kind to test this out?

I recently invested in Freeloader and want to import a US Brawl. The only thing stopping me is if having a US copy would not let me play random once SSBB comes out here. Really, it's outrageous what us PAL gamers have to go through.
