I think I've found another way to build a fully working DVD5 of SSBB US, just by relinking all the missing videos of the second layer to one of the existing videos of the first layer (by modifying the fst.bin file).
Everything seems to work fine for me. For those who want to try it :

1. Scrub the DVD9 iso to obtain a DVD5 iso.
2. Open the DVD5 iso with Trucha and replace the fst.bin file on the second partition by this one : http://rapidshare.com/files/99315406/fst-relinked.bin.html , and don't forget to sign the second partition.
3. Apply your own patches to the DVD5 iso if necessary : #001, RegionFree, BrickBlock, ...
4. Burn the DVD5 iso.
5. Enjoy.

can any1 confirm this?

This works. I am playing it now

Confirmed. I first did the old traditional way but then I noticed this. I then used this on top of the old method. This is for parity - if I make mistake replacing files, this will catch it, if this has mistake, the replaced files will catch it. This way there is almost no chance for error. :yayswedishbarnacleballs:

Where did this relinked fst.bin come from? I can't find the source. Does it avoid the green screen at end of SSE, I wonder?

I ran the 1.1 version and it works on my 3.2E Pal wii (Got Wiinja V1) - but I had to switch my Wii settings to PAL and now some stuff are displayed partially off-screen. Also there was some pretty crazy flickering going on until I turned off deflicker (And some green weird shit around the top and bottom borders of my TV).

So basically, what I'm wondering is, how can I make it work in 60hz mode? I've already wasted 3 DVD's getting to this semi-working copy, and I am kind of new to this, so step-by-step instructions would be awesome.

(If I put my Wii in 60hz mode now my TV just goes black and it's like it isn't even connected to the Wii. I've been using 60hz mode for all games since I got the Wii so it's nothing wrong with the TV)

Just wondering what exactly is changed in the v1.1 update (specifically, which files?). I would like to repatch my iso without having to through the whole process of changing the 118 files again...

Is vv_'s method just a faster method or will the SSE videos actually work?
ohmy.gif

Also, does With Anyone wifi matches work?

vv_'s is still relinking the videos there should still be only the one video. vv_'s is faster, but you have less control of what is being done. does it patch 001 error? does it remove update? who knows, at present?

wiifriend's patch allows all wifi play. i am using his first version of the patch on ntsc wii, wiikey 1.9g.

I know, at present. It won't remove the update and it won't remove the 001 error. These can still be removed afterwards, using the methods reported elsewhere, before signing the iso for burning...

EDIT: vv even says you can do the other iso mods after this one in his post!!! I swear every big release brings an influx of illiterates to these boards...

I got a Japanese Wii (NTSC-J) firmware 3.1J. I already played SSBB Japanese version (DVD5).
Can I play SSBB English version? it contains 3.2U update. Is it ok if I upgrade from the SSBB English disc.
Will my Wii get bricked? Do I have to remove "update" part on SSBB disc?
Someone told me that I played SSBB Japanese on my Wii, it wouldn't ask for any update if I play English version.
Is that right?

Just noticed that in addition to part of the screen missing, my game is really choppy. If I play 1 vs 1 it's playing at about 15-20 FPS. If i go Online for a 4 player game - I get what feels like 3 FPS at most. Same goes for offline mode more or less.

I've used high quality Verbatim DVD's burnt at 4x.

Anyone else get this problem?

(PAL Wii 3.2E)

EDIT: When I exit the game to the Wii menu, my system still lags and everything is moving in slow motion. After a reboot the wii menu seems to be running at normal speed again at least..

@K3Nv2 Snow Day is pretty fun. My only bitch would be the camera controls, when you move around, say down, you have to move the right stick left or right to get camera to turn and get your view, other than that I like it so far.

From what people say pvp isn't even worth it
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
I just been playing offline, and they give you a few bots here n there on your team to help battle. I don't think it's as funny as the other games tho, more battle oriented than humor, which kinda sucks, but I'm still early in it
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@BigOnYa, doesnt the game have a campaign mode?
  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Yea, and co-op, but you can also start a pvp session and battle just with friends. You get special skill cards (powers) the more you play. And higher value cards, but you can only enable so many cards at a time.

Toilet paper is considered the money, you collect and buy stuff with TP, kinda funny. Graphics are def better than the other games tho, I think they used Unity 5 engine.

I bet most people at the time still watched it in black and white
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
@Xdqwerty, Many of them did before colour television was common.
  • SylverReZ @ SylverReZ:
Likely because black and white TV was in-expensive.

  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
It certainly wasn't inexpensive it cost the same as a new car back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
How much did a 1965 color TV cost?

For example, a 21-inch (diagonal) GE color television in 1965 had an advertised price of $499, which is equal to $4,724 in today's dollars, according to the federal government's inflation calculator.
  • Xdqwerty @ Xdqwerty:
@K3Nv2, take into consideration how economy was back then
  • K3Nv2 @ K3Nv2:
Yeah that's why they listed inflation rates
