Donald Trump indicted on federal charges related to handling of classified documents

There are THIRTY-SEVEN* counts in all, and charges include obstruction of justice, willful intent, and conspiracy among others. Following his loss in the E. Jean Carroll suit, it seems likely Trump continues his downward spiral and ends up tying his own noose in this case as well. I'd put money on it, as a matter of fact. Now whether this will disqualify him from running for office again or not is still up in the air.

Sadly the Trump cultists will only see this as some conspiracy and feed into their growing detachment from reality and deeper into their worship of him. I do hope this disqualifies him and I also hope we don't see more Republicans imitating his bullshit.

The Constitution outlines the qualifications to be President. Indictments are not disqualifiers. Convictions are not disqualifiers. Being in jail is not a disqualifier.

But yet those disqualify one from voting. Really feel like if someone can't vote, they shouldn't be able to run either. Either that or make it so they can vote. Regardless, disappointing to think Trump still might be able to run, hopefully, that's corrected.

It won't be corrected without a Constitutional amendment. Pretty sure there's not enough time or enough votes in the states to get that passed before November of next year.

He's incorrect anyway, the fourteenth amendment disqualifies a person from running for office if they've committed criminal acts intended to damage the United States or its government (treason, essentially). There are potential espionage charges in this indictment which would disqualify him.

TBH it would probably be best for the Democrats if Trump did run again and win the nomination, he's already proven himself incapable of beating Biden. This isn't about what would be best for any political party though, just holding an individual accountable for their own actions.
