JKSV
I have a question on save files. So I have a switch that I was originally playing on that is not using CFW. I was playing TOTK on there. I got really far. Now I have this new switch that is running CFW. I'm running off SD via emuMMC.

I want to get my TOTK save data over from my legit switch over to my one using CFW. I pulled the SD, loaded back up in to OFW, linked the new switch and did a legit save transfer. It worked.

Now I put everything back on the switch the way it was with CFW but my save is not there. Likely because i'm running emuMMC and that save is stored on the system.

My question is, how can I get that save over to the emuMMC. I see a folder in the "emuMMC/RAW1/Nintendo/save". My assumption is that I just have to find it and put it in this folder and i should be good. I can't figure out where the legit save is though to move it.

I tried to download checkpoint.nro but it didn't run. the screen flashes, the checkpoint folder gets created and then goes away. So that didn't help.

Another issue I have is that I played TOTK for a little bit on this CFW switch so it has it's own save file. I loaded JKSV and it sees that save but not the one from the other switch that i want to use.

Sorry if this is all confusing. I'm equally confused.
JKSV requires a non-encrypted save, like one you dump from JKSV, to import a save. It also needs that save to be in the JKSV folder. From my understanding, you have a save on your emmc and need to move it to emummc. Is your emummc banned? Try moving your save to the emummc using the method you did to move it using emmc (legitly), if not. If your emummc is banned, I don't know what to do.

I hope it’s true here are no stupid questions, so let me ask some:

Didn’t used my switch for a long time and want to update the CFW now since my daughter in finally old enough to play.

Problem is being apart from the scene I have no idea anymore what I am supposed to do and what changes there have been over time.

My current version (as shown on my switch) is: 9.0.0/AMS 0.9.4/S

1. what is the easiest way (preferably withstand tutorial) how I upgrade to the latest version?

2. I set my switch to Auto RCM mode, is this still required in order to avoid putting to the switch manually into RCM once the battery dies?

3. sorry for the noob questions, but what program do I use again on my PC and my Switch to install games and updates?

4. when it comes to Roms there are different types (e.g. eshop) what are the differences and which one would be preferred?

As usual, the rentry guide will answer most if not all of your questions. AutoRCM still recommended if you don't want to mess with a jig. There are xci and nsp roms, both are equivalent as far as installing games is concerned. Now go and play some Mario Kart with your daughter. ^_^

Thanks, I successfully updated the CFW to the newest version.

However I have two additional questions:

1. FW is still 9.0, I saw a guide at rentry how to upgrade, but to which FW is it save to upgrade?

2. what is the best way to install games/ updates? I can’t remember the details but was that goldleaf?

latest firmware is fine, also installing games and updates is easier with dbi as some users can have trouble with tinfoil and other installers.

1. Latest is safe right now, but it's not always true. When a new firmware is released, wait for Atmosphere to update first. Check in my last 5 posts or so, I explained to someone how to update his firmware to the latest.
2. As mentioned above, you can't go wrong with DBI. Very versatile tool.

Sorry, I am already on the most updated version of Atmosphere (1.5.3), but I decided to try it anyways and I still get the same error.
Did you delete your older Atmosphere folder before using the newer one?
Ok. What do I need to do?
Where did you download your hekate_ipl.ini file from originally? That place will have an updated hekate_ipl.ini

  1. I guess you can update to the latest firmware
  2. I always use and recommend TinWoo Installer. Its what I personally use and never have any issues when using it.

I believe I did delete first, but I can try it again in case I just copied files over. Should I be doing the same for the switch folder?

I deleted my atmosphere folder and threw in the new one and still get the same error. Seems like my CFW is fucked?

I'd hate to do it, but If I should restart from scratch and follow a guide to get back to where I was then I will do that. If it is a system save that is corrupt, does it mean that it is only affecting the CFW and not the SYSNAND if I can boot into SYSNAND just fine? Not sure how useful it would be to factory reset the switch itself on the system side since the Emummc is a copy of the System

The switch folder only contains homebrew apps so it doesn't need to be updated in this case. Also, since you now mentioned emuMMC, you never specified if the corrupted save is in sysMMC or emuMMC. sysMMC and emuMMC are not connected except by the hardware they share so any software issues will not be shared between them.

The error occured when using the emuMMC. I never even use the sysMMC

Is there a way to install a whole folder in DBI rather than individual files?

Does the order of the file installation matter?

For example, what will happen if a game update is installed before the base game?
Code:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [0100152000022800][v983040] is installed first
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [0100152000022000][v0] is installed second

Are all older versions of a game update required or can I simply install the latest version?

For example, what will happen in this scenario?
Code:
Disney Dreamlight Valley [0100D39012C1A800][v1048576] is installed first
Disney Dreamlight Valley [0100D39012C1A800][v262144] is installed second

Same question with DLC content. For example, what will happen in this scenario?
Code:
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [Wave 1] [0100152000023001][v65536] is installed first
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe [Wave 1] [0100152000023001][v0] is installed second

I believe DBI's MTP feature is just drag'n drop, so grab as many files as you want to be installed. Order of file installation doesn't matter at all, updates can be installed b4 base games. And finally, you only need to install the latest updates, forget about the rest.

So hey, I don't know if I'd post this on PS2 or PSP Emulation for switch so I've decided to land it here:

I wanna try playing Prince of Persia Warrior Within on Switch. and I wanna ask if which emulation works best on switch. Then I just had a quick google and found there is POPWW on gamecube too, so if anyone had tried 3 emus on switch which one's worth pushing? Thanks!

On sysnand JKSV dump the svi for TOTK. Then back to emunand JKSV create save data for TOTK. Now you can restore the save to emunand.

Yeah, you can force per game language, for example with DBI.
