Switchroot Android R version publicly released, allows you to boot Android 11 on all Switch models

fnuidfhisduf.png

The first public release of Switchroot's Android R/11 version is here. Available as a beta, the Switchroot team has published a guide on how to run Android 11 or R on all models of hacked Nintendo Switch systems. You'll need to delete your previous Switchroot installation if you want to run it, with the new version offering better WiFi consistency, more JoyCon support, and quality of life improvements. This is a beta release, so bugs are expected, though the Switchroot developers claim that this is fairly stable, as far as beta releases go.

Which version of mmj did you use to test this? I’ve tried several with mixed results…
This one version i use. I have all Citra/Dolphin forks for Retroid Pocket 3 from reddit . Those fork can be used on any Android device. Link for download https://mega.nz/file/eex3XLgD#2-AG_ozKWMAd2z6tmVIZ7tuo_xIPLTPRgpgJwb1JEWA
Try it. Test if you want. I dont try GC games anymore. Its a waste of time emulating GC games on switch. My Motorola E40 have better GC performance. Than switch.

Looks like there are some open source methods for accessing your plex library. Maybe someone can port it

https://github.com/RasPlex/OpenPHT
I asked several times for something like this (or at least KODI). Guess it's. on no dev's prio list currently. There's different homebrews though that allow network streaming.

Also the last commit on that repo is from 2021. Given the rate at which PLEX does change things it's highly unlikely that this is still compatible.

I never used any android stuff on my switch till this day, I guess it’s a nice feature but I still only use my switch to do things that the switch can do without another operating system. I only tried lakka once just because that’s all someone I knew used and there were issue for whatever reason with their lakka and switch version of retroarch but never again. I guess lakka is the only android thing I tried if it counts. Well I guess this will just be a choice.

This seems great and lot of fun, so if I already have my Switch set up with EMUNAND on my SD, can I set my same card up to have both partitions, Android and EMUNAND? And will I need to start all over with a fresh formatted card to do this, or can I simply ensure there is enough free space and then partition the SD again further?

I don't mind if I lose the installed Switch games and have to re-install, and all saves are backed up. Just wondering if I can negate the need to setup EMUNAND again

I don't see how that works. There are a million Android devices out there, and 3 Switches. Can't you use anything else as an Android device instead of the most popular gaming handheld?

i wish this kind of effort was put into homebrew apps on the Switch. having a "native" browser to run on CFW would be cool. the only versions I've seen are slow single-tab versions of the built in browser. either way, this whole thing is cool as shit. love to see nintendo consoles experimented on.
