The lag is mostly dependent on the amount of games in a single folder, the fix is to categorize your games in various folders with less amount of files on each folder, then you can use Categories Lite plugin or the File Browser to boot your games.

The Standalone version runs faster and consumes less resources. However Adrenaline has support for the XMB and PS1 games, and gives a more PSP-like experience.
i was running ark 4 version build from 2 weeks ago on my psp 1001 ver 6.60... i was just using the live version not permanent through infinity, just stage 1 infinity so i can press home button when it would soft brick itself. so i would play and do a soft turn off every time so i wouldn't need to run ark loader every time. i was playing from iso and the game froze so i had to restart psp. i ran ark loader and now it loaded without the custom firmware settings section and pressing select wouldn't show vsh menu anymore either. i loaded infinity to try to make the firmware ark 4 cfw permanent but only a black screen and infinity wouldn't load... i took out battery restarted several times and still no luck.
then i said forget it ill just upgrade to 6.61 ofw and install infinity again and install the latest ark 4 released from a few days ago and now make it permanent from the beginning... so i upgraded to 6.61 everything fine... install infinity 2.0.5... its fine, run again infinity and select ark-4 to make permanent, next run ark 4 loader... it works yay the custom firmware settings section shows again and select button shows vsh menu again. i restart several times and see ark 4 permanent there every time and the custom firmware section shows every time plus select button shows vsh menu every time... now i say i can play in peace and can change my overclock and memory card faster loading when i need to.
so now im playing my same as usual iso that i that i dumped from my umd last week, after 1/2 hour of play i press home exit game, look at the settings and notice that the custom firmware settings section is gone again and select button to show vsh menu doesnt work. i restart and now the custom settings section comes back again, i load up the iso again, hit home exit game and see that the section is still there, now out of curiosity i restart the psp again and now the custom settings section doesn't show up again or the select button to show vsh menu doesn't work again. i load up infinity again but it just hangs at a black screen and psp restarts itself- after it restarts its still on permanent ark 4 infinity but again select button to show vsh doesn't work and custom firmware settings section doesn't show up. i took out the battery, took out memory stick and restarted it over and over again but no more does vsh menu or custom firmware section section show up. but its still on the latest ark 4 infinity permanent and the iso is there still shows up every time so i can still play fine.... it seems to me my psp just hacked itself and deleted the custom firmware section and vsh menu by itself? lol
now i don't think this is a ark-4 cfw problem as i didn't see others posting about this issue, it seems my psp just omits this custom menu section over time? if i were to use chronoswitch and reinstall 6.61 ofw and install everything correctly over again im sure the custom firmware section and vsh menu would show up again but i feel it would just last a short while before disappearing again?

That is strange indeed, it could be a broken/corrupted memory stick, try using the "Full Installer", which will copy some of the extras to flash0 so it'll always be there.
i just ran the full installer and it works- now both select button shows vsh again, and the custom firmware section is there too, thanks

I say, thank you for adding the ability to rip UMDs on a PC. I so needed this feature instead of manually ripping them on a low capacity memory stick.

@Acid_Snake in Adrenaline causes crashes at certain times, if it works when trying to exit the recovery it causes another crash that leaves Adrenaline unusable until the console is restarted.

Are you sure you're using the latest version? Adrenaline crashes were solved ages ago.
What would be the procedure to achieve these crashes? I haven't been able to encounter them since I made the fixes.
I am aware that the Standalone installation has stability issues (with the kernel exploit) and it doesn't help that I haven't even used those types of installations myself for a while. I'll take care of this for the next updates.

I am back to say that the standalone version worked, apparently the base game got corrupted somehow, I reinstalled using the modified ARKFast provided here and it works without problems
And about Adrenaline-ARK it was my problem, I assigned the bubble to start with too low an overclock causing instacrash

So is there a place with more documentation about Ark or a point of contact like a discord? someone i know tried to install ark CIPL, not knowing that installing it on top infinity pro C2 without wiping it first is a bad idea.
I you can recover by holding the HOME button. I've had similar issues like that and recall fixing it this way.
maybe we'll try that, rn we managed to get to the recovery menu and will try to wipe the CFW clean using chronoswitch.
still, my point stands, i feel like the github needs to have a wiki with more info or some place for people to organize info.
most of the stuff i was able to help him with was knowledge that carried over from pro C2 and even then we struggled to find how to boot an eboot from the recovery menu because we couldnt find the file browser, cause there was no info on the recovery mode anywhere
