By "update data" you mean the game update, or the were you editing the cia file itself? If the former, it's weird for it not to work just 'cause you have the game update installed, and it shouldn't clash with the cart data regardless of what cart revision it is.
yeah the game crashed if I had both the mod and update installed (no clue why but if I had to harbor a guess it might have to do with the fact I used an unupdated version of the game for making my version of the mod(as a randomizer my version of the mod didn't exist until I made it only the tools with which to make it) but honestly even that doesn't make that much sense it me) the mod was just being played using luma's tools for that not as it's own cia file

I'm trying to stream audio from my 3DS into my computer for the purposes of streaming. But I can't seem to get my laptop to play or accept the audio?
I only have a single headphone jack and usb-c and usb devicecs. How do I record the audio? how do I even get the audio to even fit in. Are there troubleshooting guides at all?

Check your laptop manual? I expect the headphone jack also includes a mic input, in which case you'll be able to plug in a separate audio source if you get a splitter cable. Or buy an external USB audio device.

If the JP N3DS was region changed (JP to US), then no you can't. Alternatively, you can install your old JP 3DS and with it you can both the game and the save, so you can restore/install them on your cfw N3DS.

So i need Japanese Eshop to transfer game and save file ?

You don't need to update to the latest fw, unless you intend on playing games online and/ or using the eShop.
If you want to update the firmware, just update Luma3DS to the latest version (v12.0.1), and you're all set.

thanks.

Is that jsut case of down load v12.0.1 and copy to SD card and all set to go?
Or is there some other better way.

thanks for the fast reply

You need the eShop to do a System Transfer. If you just want to install a game on a second system, just install it the same way you did the first time. You can use Checkpoint to transfer the save data.
well i just want to transfer my save file and game, just 1 game (MH4G) i don't care about the rest
thanks btw
To do a system transfer (in your case)? Yes. You'd need to restore the JP nand you made before region changing. Tbh i'd just install cfw and dump the game & save, but it's your choice.
i don't want to install my Old JP 3DS CFW, i don't want to using it anyway after i buy a new one

Hi guys, I was wondering if I could get some help. I had my 3ds modded a few years ago, and yesterday I loaded the SD card in a UTM virtual Windows machine on my Mac. When I loaded it back into mac, it said it was not readable, and the same when I put it in the 3Ds. I'm not familiar with how the hack works. All I know is that the SD card seems to be corrupted. So I tried disk drill and it recovered most of the files (I think, although it did this weird thing of reading 187GB when the files couldn't have been more than 120, since it's a 128g card ). I made a backup of the corrupted card and wiped it, thinking I could just put the files back. The problem is much of the data was sorted into these "orphan" files and I've no idea where to put them.

I also tried testdisk because I read that I could possibly reconstruct the boot or something. A deep scan showed this:

And with that, I'm really not sure what to do, haha. Sorry for being such a noob, but I was hoping that if I can't recover the whole thing, at least I can get my save files back……

Did you use Testdisk before you wiped the card, or after, or what?

I have read reports that Easeus sometimes succeeds when Testdisk does not. You're the second person I've ever seen suggest Disk Drill and it does not strike me as especially useful.

Anyway, if all you have is these .sav files, you have an uphill battle ahead of you. Each file is encrypted, so there's no immediate way to match them up with a given game, except by size – and as you've probably noticed, that doesn't really distinguish the files very well.

Are you skilled with Python at all? You can make a list of title IDs for each of your installed games using https://hax0kartik.github.io/3dsdb/ , and then use 3ds-save-tool to try to decrypt each file. The decryption operation requires the correct title ID, so once you successfully decrypt a file, you'll know what title ID is associated with it and thereby where to put it on your SD card after you re-install the game.

It's tricky, but quite doable.

Hello everyone,
I use a N2DSXL and recently homebrewed it up with the most used guide on the net (3dsDOThacksDOTguide). I've played some pokémon games until recently and now I want to Play some Pokémon Emerald. I found an Emerald CIA which I used, and now I can play it very nicely without emulator/rocketrob solution.
Only thing is, I'd love to edit my team a little bit because I'm not going to spend time fishing for Feebases or getting a good nature poke. I've used PKSM for ORAS editing, and Pokémon Chest Universal-Team through Twilight for BW2 editing, respectively. When I use PKSM I see that my Pokémon Yellow displayed, so I'm trying to find the location of the Emerald save to edit accordingly. Could anybody help me out?
I ended up getting the older pokemon games to show up in pksm you can add items pokemon change stats its pretty sick and I didn't expect it to work with games like crystal or emerald but it just worked lol also I found my save in twilight menu sub folders.

So I've dusted off my old 3DS XL. It's got MenuHax, and some sort of Luma I believe. How would I go about updating it to the current version of CFW safely?

What exactly makes you think you have Menuhax? You generally wouldn't have Luma if you had Menuhax, and vice-versa.

Start with https://3ds.guide/checking-for-cfw . Do not update the firmware on your unit before you are certain what you have!

I've noticied that my 3DS XL is taking a bit longer to start after installing the lastest system update; it was already running
Luma3DS v12.0.1 before the update and it wasn't like that. Is this normal?
