never mind, i got it to work with the scripts, but none of the mods I'm using work with either 1 or 2. i tried both the default and rev01 versions, but neither of them work. the mods im using are found here with no extras https://drive.google.com/file/d/1nnOjrAPad6L7Bvi_wKMcVJqD_ql8MLjH/view
I see. That's an error message inside of S1REX. I'll look into it.

Okay, I found the source of the problem and I also fixed a bug that was preventing multiple mods from loading. Redownlod the game and see if it works.
Also, another thing you will have to do is edit your 'mods/modconfig.ini' file so the mods are loaded in the correct order. You may have to play around with this, but I put them in the order listed in your guide and it seems to work. It should look like this:

[mods]
S1REX=true
Tracker_s Tweaks REX=true
Sonic 1 Masa Mashups=true
Restored GHZ Boss Hitbox=true
Nicer SS7=true

Thanks for the update.

Edit: For the next update could you add the option to turn off the bottom screen? All the text is annoying and while is nice to have it too see if the games are working well, it is quite distracting.

I see what you mean. I thought it would be useful to show that the game isn't frozen but it is a bit irritating.
I made an update that removes the bottom text, except for when the game is first starting up and when leaving the mod menu. I think that's a good compromise between my original intention and not being annoying.

I am having issue with sonic 1, it says data.rsdk missing even though it is in the correct folder
Does the data file work on the PC version?
Edit: It looks like you might have copied over your files from the PC version. Try deleting the settings.ini file and see if anything changes.

Can anyone confirm that both games do not work anymore with Luma v12.0 ?
When you press "start game" the app freezes and you cannot go in game.
If you delete all config files, you can go in game once, but if you quit and relaunch the game, it will freeze again when you press "start game"
I reinstalled Luma v11.0 and both games work again.

Try to disable "Redirect app. syscore threads to core2" in luma settings and see if that fixes the issue. It's known that this nea feature can cause some issues in some homebrew, and this may be the case.

Luma settings can be accessed by turning off the console, then turn it on while pressing the SELECT button.

I get an ARM11 error when I try to run the game. The menu works perfectly fine, but when I try to get past it to actually play the game, it crashes. This happens with both Sonic 1 and 2.

Are you using the New 3DS or New 2DS? Also have you checked that your SD card is working fine?

I used the Android version and this App:

https://github.com/apk-editor/APK-Explorer-Editor

Just because no program has given you problems before it doesn't mean the SD card is not at fault, is quite common for a SD card to only show to be faulty when it starts to fill out with data. Please backup and check the SD card before trying anything else.
So for some reason now, whenever I make a new save file, the game crashes. No ARM11 error or anything, just a frozen screen. After hard resetting my 3ds and loading the file that was created the game works perfectly fine...

I tested this for both Sonic 1 and 2.
