Sorry if I derail any conversation but how do I add cheats to any game? I have the latest version of Luma (12.x) and I couldn't find any straightforward answer that allows me to load a cheat engine of some sort.
Luma has a built in cheat engine if i'm not mistaken, so all you need to do is follow the instructions on this github.

https://github.com/LumaTeam/Luma3DS/wiki/Cheat-Engine

I just use it for 60 fps cheats

edit: also better 3d cheat codes are amazing

I could not find the answer to the first two links you sent here, as I am willing to create my own cheats.
I looked at the last link you sent here, and along with finding more links to gamebrew, showed instructions on how to get the plugin loader. In my case, the Luma3DS 3GX Loader by PabloMK7. That answered by question, given that I installed the 3gx loader and it works fine for me. Thank you! I'll ask again here for anything else that I need help with, or if I have any other questions or concerns.

CoolMe, it was the SD Card, as suspected. I ended up buying a new one and a spare, just in case. Thanks for the assistance!
Make sure to check this new sd card for errors with h2testw as well. If it passes the test, format it as FAT32 64kb if it's a 128gb (or bigger), otherwise 32kb clusters would do.

Any of you know what these features are? I'm looking for something that helps me understand which of these options would control the screen size? I'm trying to run Threads of Fate PS1 and it seems the "Safe" option makes it run at full speed while the "Quality" makes it run with lag and sound breaking. I'm trying to know what options are making the screen size full screen instead of a small screen.

This above version has a smaller screen, the one below has the normal sized screen but runs slower.

EDIT: I'm looking at the compatibility list and it seems Threads of Fate runs just fine? I suppose I'm just curious about the settings and why this isn't working as it should? There's something I'm missing and I just don't know what

Simple Sanity check question. I'm on luma 12.0.1, and n3ds is nagging for another system update. I think 11.17?

Thread on the new update was talking about how it broke some entry points to jailbreak an untouched system. What about in my situation with one that's already been hacked and stuff?

Yes.

Your device will perform just the same as before.
So it is safe to accept the update? Rather dumb of nintendo to make a system update when they closed the eshop. then again, if they spent half as much time improving the system through firmware as they did abusing the legal system, the Switch would have functional ray tracing support. But eff us, right?

Sorry if that qualified as spamming tried a month in between asking thinking it was okay due to not seeing any rules on the subject(EDIT:Just found the rule on the subject probably didn't fully comprehend it at first not realizing it also applies to comments sorry again) I'm sorry for any annoyance my repeated asking of the same question may have caused I suppose I'll try to look elsewhere for some help on that subject but may I ask that somebody can link me to a guide explaining how luma's loading of mods works more in detail than what's explained on the github so that I can try to progress with my issue myself(Sorry again if this post also qualifies as spam just generally interested in fixing this issue since this isn't the first time this has happened trying to play a mod on luma)

Hey, recently installed a mod for a game on my 3ds(mod is yo-kai watch randomizer for the original game if that's any help)
The cia file you installed wasn't patched or modded?
and followed the instructions given for running the mod but now as long as I have game patching enabled on Luma the game just seems to crash every time I open it.(more details I have the yw1_a.fa file inside the romfs folder inside the 0004000000167700 folder inside the titles folder which is of course within the luma folder so I'm under the impression that the directory is correct at the very least).
Yes, they're usually stored in sd:/luma/titles, though it's not always the case. Unless it was specifically stated in the instructions by whomever that made that mod.

By "crashes everytime" you mean when you launch it? Arm11 error is it? Was the game working before you copied the mod files?

The Arm11 could be independent from the mod you installed, you could be missing a game update (thst the mod requires it), or missing a seed file (unless it was working before you installed the mod), or it's an out-of-region version of the game you installed (easily fixed by running Luma3DS Locale Switcher to get make it work)..

yeah an arm11 error happens when I launch the mod
The game is the most up to date version (ver 1.2)(you saying that made me check what version the only time I got it working was on though and the citra version I took from that same cart has no updates so I'm going to try to remove the updates and see if it helps if so then thank you) and it's on cart however in order to see if that was the issue I turned the cart into a cia to see if a downloaded version fixes the bug but it doesn't
As for if it's modded I know it is as the process had me make the changes myself and testing them to see if they work on citra they do I just can't get it to work on my actual 3ds
Thank you for letting me know what sorts of more details would be helpful in troubleshooting this issue

EDIT: Deleting the update data fixed it thank you for helping me figure out where the problem was(Just talking through it helped a ton and now I'm no longer stuck on the same step after months of failing to fix it thank you again CoolMe you live up to your name) now my only question is why wouldn't it work with the update data but I bet that has something to do with it having me build the mod instead of just already having the files already there

By "update data" you mean the game update, or the were you editing the cia file itself? If the former, it's weird for it not to work just 'cause you have the game update installed, and it shouldn't clash with the cart data regardless of what cart revision it is.

Hello, I have a quick question.

I have a USA New 3ds XL with CFW, and I was wondering if there's any way to play Japanese DS and 3ds game cartridges in English on it

The only way to play Japanese titles in English is by using a translation patch. Translation patches are generally written by volunteers and it is often excruciatingly difficult work. If a translation patch exists for a game you're interested in, Google should tell you pretty quickly.

Retroarch has built-in autotranslate functionality, but of course you would probably need to use it on a PC.

Alright, thank you very much! I couldn't find a clear answer anywhere.

If these DS & 3DS carts come with the English language, yes, sure, otherwise you're better off getting the NA/EU release of games (physical or digital)..

If the JP N3DS was region changed (JP to US), then no you can't. Alternatively, you can install your old JP 3DS and with it you can both the game and the save, so you can restore/install them on your cfw N3DS.

Why don't *hax work with Luma3DS?
Wat?
