That sounds like some really difficult micro soldering job. Is it really necessary? What size of resistor would one use for that, 0402?
It is not necessary but if you can manage to solder it, it would help in an unlikely scenario that G gets detached from pico.
If you want to do it, but you find that 2x2 mosfet is too small to solder to (which it is) you could go with a bigger mosfet (like aon7506, 7518) and use that.

I didn't use the pulldown resistor. I was so close to giving up, I'd rather not do anything that wasn't absolutely needed.
I also only used 1 mosfet. It took all my patience without a microscope.

Just reassembled, still works :)

No worries, I did 12pcs until now, all single mosfet, without resistor and no problem so far.

Just to be clear. Pull down resistor is not compulsory but recommended on any general mosfet install in any circuit. Google for more info on why if you want to know more. Also, well done on your install 👍🏻

Can anyone who has used IRFHS8342 mosfet tell me if the distance between legs fits a 0201 resistor exactly, so that i order the correct size in order to set it as a pull down resistor with perfect fit between legs.

Some overlay on the S pad but it should fit nicely

Work fine
:D
The G line need not to be wide, since the current flows there is small.
The D and S line need to be as wide as possible, since the current flows a lot in there.

This also prolong the line when corrotion happened.

Hi everyone, I am moding v1 with picofly, I got a bridge in 3.3 cap and the cap next to it (pic above), I am unable to remove the bridge. Will it work normally or I am destroying my V1. This 2 cap is so close and easy to be bridge. I am spend 30 minutes trying to remove it but no hope

My hot air is too big for this, I afraid blow all cap around it and end up as a disaster. Next time I will find another spot

I found a pic in this forum about it. I seem it is ok to be bridge. But I not sure, anyone can confirm this?

Not sure but I think the other side is ground from the top cap, u need solderwick and flux to remove it,
Otherwise hot air station and remove the caps then the rest solder

hi everybody,
perform v1, but it does not start ofw, nor the atm, if I remove the chip it starts fine. Do I have to do something different in v1 to make them work like v2?

What u mean with hot air is to big? Are u talking about a hot air gun? Ifso don't use it.

Well on the picture they both seem to have 3v but on different lines , so remove the solder bridge

What u mean doesn't start ATM?(I know ur talking about atmosphere)
Does it start hekate?

If it doesn't ofw or hekate then u have a soldering issue.

Its all the same v1/v2
