Although I would normally agree, they do have a history of platforming transphobic articles and even platforming a straight-up rapist to share her terf views. So I've lost a lost of respect and trust in the BBC.

Exactly, in that way they're not necessarily that much better than right wing news, in many ways they push the same messages but try to disguise them as being just semantic arguments, that might as well be the "What is a woman" argument so commonly seen in Right wing media today.

That's fair, I'll not pretend I've consistently paid close attention to the views espoused by BBC News, I just read the very occasional article. That just makes it all the more hilarious that they seem to be the latest target for attacks from the global right, certainly on this forum if not other sites as well. Then again, part of me also has to assume it's intentionally nefarious: "traditional" conservatism just isn't extreme or fringe enough for these nutjobs any more.
Normally I don't pay too hard attention to them but when I heard they platformed a rapist terf, I had to see for myself. Now, I am a bit more wary of them. It was only made worse by their pisspoor attempts at "justifying" an article that literally did nothing more than platform terfs bitching about trans people.

You fail to take into consideration the views of others that vary from yours and you dislike them based on their views and therefore you are the very defination of a Bigot and are in no position for anyone to take anything you say serioulsy. I'd also probably be wary of you as well if I knew you were hanging out with Transvestites and I'd tell all the kids in my street to avoid you as you may be a potential groomer.

Well in the last two posts alone you insulted another member because you think they're trans, said that their children would be mentally handicapped, and called me a potential groomer just for saying that I know trans people and like hanging out with them. Not to mention continual usage of "Transvestite", which is an outdated and often derogatory term.
Considering I've told him multiple times in the past that I am not a trans girl and that The Catboy is simply an online persona, he continues to demonstrate and lack of understanding of others. Transphobes really think every trans person they meet is a trans girl.
That said and to get back on topic, the BBC has several other issues in their reporting but I do think there is a need for more fact-checkers and verification processes in the news. But I also think those need to be external and detached completely to remain as neutral as possible.
Well there's no such thing as a Trans woman - there's only real biological women or blokes in dresses pretending to be women - AKA Transvestites.

I would have had to be born with the ability to produce sperm in order to have sperm. But since I wasn’t born with that function, then I find it hard to believe that I will ever have that function. That said, how do this have anything to do with my comment? You aren’t very convincing. The BBC did things in the past that damaged my trust of them and thus I don’t trust them. Me being trans or my inability to have kids plays nothing into this topic

Creepy and gross comments aside. I do wonder if other news media will follow and how that will turn out? I also wonder if the BBC is going to verify internally or externally? Reading the article, I didn’t see that being mentioned. I did notice that they plan on having it all open source, so that’s a point in their favor
