I found that if I patch the eboot.bin extracted from Vita3K, the patched file is unbootable. I opened it with hex editor and found many data is lost (all the blocks in the middle are 00, but the original file wasn't).

So I wrote a python script to find and replace the strings directly. It worked pretty well for me.
You just need to put the .py file together with eboot.bin and double-click the .py script. It will create "eboot_patched_ENG.bin".
Then replace the original eboot.bin with the patched one in your Vita3K folder. Don't forget to make a backup of the original.

Hello, I'm a newbie with Vita3K and when I tried playing the game the audio is really choppy/staticky. What are the settings that I need to change to 'stabilize' the audio?

Ps. Thank you for translating this game, fellow translators!! You guys are awesome!

Hey there! I have been dabbling with this game for a while and just noticed you had a thread on the translation! I have a handful of the textures translated already and i was in the middle of remaking the title screen with the logo i made if you would like them!
Hey! I wonder how you got the unlogoed main background of Madoka Magica: The Battle Pentagram. If you can, could you please send me that unlogoed background?
I'm in a translation project which is trying to translate the game into another language, and we are having trouble dealing with the LOGO. I'd appreciate it if you can help.

Hey @universal_eternity, thanks for this project! I'm enjoying the game a lot! Could you please upload all the original gxt textures? I'm trying to change all the X and O buttons image to, in combination with the reVita plugin, remap the typical JP layout to a more western one. I have successfully edited some of your zip, but not every image of the game has changed, so I suspect there are other textures containing button images that you haven't included (probably because they weren't needed for the EN translation). And at this point I have no idea how to get all original textures from the data.apk file.

holypentagram.exe has an option to extract all the files, try that

The game is just stuck loading forever, and I get this in the console.
The game worked fine before installing the patch.

Try my patched eboot.bin.

HolyPentagram can't patch the eboot extracted from the emulator, because it's already unpacked. HolyPentagram always assumes that the eboot is compressed, so it will try to unpack it anyway. However, if you unpack an already unpacked eboot, it will corrupt the file, and eventually lead to your patched eboot being unbootable.

Okay so I tired not using the eboot.bin from HolyPentagram and instead only used the pack, stage and data.
The game launches and it's in English, I'll play through and see if anything breaks, but for now it's working

Try patching this eboot. It was decrypted from PS Vita using FAGDec, which can be patched normally by HolyPentagram.
Just copy the eboot.bin into game_data and select "create translation patch" again.

Anyway, what's in the console?

I've been taking some rest, but hopefully I can resume the work soon. Currently, only days 29 and 30 are missing to complete the main story. Besides that, there are still some pairs events that aren't done yet (Madoka-Kyoko, Homura-Sayaka and some others)

Good to know this is still being worked on. I'll have to consider searching for this game in a couple of months in that case so I have a copy with me when you complete the translation. Keep up the good work. :yay:
