According to nton's readme, not very frequently, but it has happened at least a couple times in the past:
Post a screenshot of what you're entering. Maybe we can spot an issue.
I don't have an experience with that particular emulator, so unfortunately I don't have any advice. If there is something wrong in the forwarder itself then it would likely be something in the forwarder mod code, which I use more or less as-is. Let us know if you find out any solution during your investigating though

I had to install sigpatches again. The ones I installed the first time didn’t allow NRO forwarders but everything else worked
Would love to add support for most of the compatible retroarch cores. I know we can do it ourselves quite easily anyway, but might as well add the best from for all emulators (dreamcast, saturn, atari, etc)
If you just mean to the preset selector, feel free to send a pull request adding more. That part of the code is here.

The best option atm is melonds standalone.

Most 2D games run perfectly, and many 3D games too or only need a small overclock.
Retroarch includes a melonds core which is way slower.
There are emulators on the lakka, android, ubuntu fronts too, though the're out of scope I guess.
Got it up and working following the instructions on that post. Thanks again bro! Now, it's time to look for games and setup forwarders
tootallnate you should add some more preset paths for the cores, like Genesis Plus GX/Genesis Plus GX Wide, FinalBurn Neo and MAME for example. Maybe make the list have a scroll wheel if it gets too long.
Looks neat, but is prod.keys absolutely necessary ? I'm seeing people posting forwarders on the net so they aren't tied to one console I guess ? (these online forwarders don't work for me). I would like to get a Retroarch forwarder.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but getting the prod.keys file is a hassle to me because my lockpick homebrew crashes on start, and it seems it was taken down online so not sure how I can try to update it.

I had the same issue, and my "solution" was to use SAK (Switch Army Knife).
Seems there was a bug. I was able to figure it out. The "Enable Screenshots" checkbox should be working now.

Forwarders are somewhat portable. I am able to use forwarders generated with one of my Switch's prod.keys file on my other Switch. I'm not sure exactly where the compatibility boundary is, but I'm guessing it's related to the OS version.
As for if prod.keys is absolutely necessary, the answer is yes. The underlying
hacbrewpack tool requires the prod.keys file to be provided, and I would not feel comfortable supplying a default set on the website. If it makes you feel any better though, all processing is done completely within your browser (the prod.keys file never gets uploaded to any server).Also, you'll want to use Lockpick RCM (the payload, that you need to inject from your payload injector or Hekate), and not the Lockpick homebrew app (which no longer works).

For some reason this tool doesn't seem to work on Android i can't seem to get icons working is it a compatibly issue or am I just doing something wrong
