Just a quick question, is everyone using microscopes to solder? Is there something cheap I can use? Seen mixed thoughts on them magnifying headband things
If its only for one time use, the magnifying headband will get the job done.
If you plan to work on smd more often, then a microscope should be considered.

You need both of them, plus some additional files. There are alot of guides on how to do that (a couple of them in this thread aswell).
Just google "switch homebrew" and you will have all ypur answers because this precedure is the same whichever modchip you use.

I Installed my first one with my camera phone and it was pain in the a**
If you plan on ever doing any smd solderin in the future get a microscope (it does not have to be high end)
Yeah, It's a bit annoying, I plan to get a microscope soon. Anyway, I can take really close images from my phone (see example, it's the rst pin), but for this project I consider microscope a must have.

Wow, great job if you managed to soder those with just a magnifying glass.
What I did was that I put the phone in recording mode with flash on ( so the screen won't shut off and the light stays on). Then suspended the phone on top of 2 soda cans and worked my way with solder in pcb. Midway through this I orderd a microscope because I was not sure I will be able to finish the work since I was knocking my phone over with the solder every 20seconds :D

It's best if you could find a Oled Switch that usees a non Toshiba/Kioxia EMMC but I dont think there is a way to know what Emmc chip is used without disassembling the console.
Even if you get (un)lucky and get an Oled with Toshiba, @rehius fixed this with the latest firmware so you should be OK.
As for the cables, any cable with the vertical connection for SP1 and SP2 will work (so Core cables, Lite Cables, Oled cables, all of them apart from V1).

You are right, you do need a dat0 adapter for Oled. Get the yellow one with 4 anchor points, it is much more reliable than the black ones.
And yes, the v4.1 works. As I said, as long as the SP1 and SP2 pads are in vertical position you are good to go.
Since (i guess) it's your first mod I would suggest you go with the hwfly from aliexpress. com/item/1005004097100564.html?spm=a2g0o.detail.1000023.9.209c402bptEpi2
The price is ok now and its much easier to work with that picofly at this stage.

Anyon, any to tell me what I'm doing wrong and also I'm not using any of the resistors. Still waiting on them in the mail I got some before but the system wouldn't boot with them installed

I often see people saying that they have recently broken their NAND or boot0, but what is the mechanism behind this happening? It might be a good idea to compile a list of things to be aware of to prevent this from happening. What do you think?

People not using resistors causes boot0 issues

I've done my 2 oleds and a v2 using these that I borrowed
just ordered a microscope as I've been putting it off for years
