This is probably a title I don't expect many to care about, but was a huge part of my childhood. Garfield: Caught In The Act

I remember playing it on Windows 95 or 98, not entirely sure. Definitely a very old game, I recall trying to replay it recently on my Win 10 computer, somehow made it work but the game was running at super speed.

I thought it would be super cute to play it on the 3Ds, although, as much as it is abandonware, I couldn't find the source code readily floating on the internet. I have quite a lot of experience with coding in Unity, but I doubt my expertise with that is a golden nugget in terms of porting such an old game to an old console.

If anyone more experienced than me got inspired or had a lightbulb moment to share, well, be welcome :D

You’re probably the best person to code a recreation or port of this game for the 3DS as I doubt many people are as passionate about a DOS Garfield game from the 90s as you are :)

A quick scan says the megadrive version is actually fairly similar. Would it not be better to emulate that, maybe hack it to change stage order if that matters to you and add in the bonus level.
Alternatively I don't know what the 3ds version of dosbox is like these days but https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Garfield:_Caught_in_the_Act#System_requirements looks within the realm of possibility (3.1 windows means it is a DOS game really, reasonable to still see in 1996).

re super speed old games on PC then there are methods of correcting that, none brilliant compared to hacking it to be sensible (which is not necessarily the hardest hack) or emulating an old PC.
