The equivalent of a Zelda Direct is airing tomorrow. Nintendo has announced that they'll be uploading a video that features ten minutes of gameplay from the upcoming The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, with series producer Eiji Aonuma hosting. The video will go live on March 28 at 7am PT on Nintendo's official YouTube channel.

If that's "the entire point of the game", then the entire point is about getting lost, not knowing where to find the content, getting frustrated, and looking up an online map to actually find the content in that bleepin' game else you're gonna waste valuable time stumbling around blind, reliant on only what is visible atop towers.
Defeats the point - just tell me where to find stuff straight-up!

Ghost of Tsushima/Skyrim/Assassin's Creed/Horizon (I'm guessing)/Hellblade (also guessing) >>> BotW.
You can never not know how to find the content, in those games, aside from a few collectibles (which don't really count).
Damn, what a take

If you think the point of the game is to be told what to look for and where it is and run like you were a cat or a rat in a maze, then yeah I can understand.

Fuck pointers, I don't want a GPS to be able to wander through a map. If you find Ubisoft openworlds more appealing then ... good for you I guess, they're made to be appealing to most people, so you don't have to actually find anything by yourself and I absolutely can get some fun on those too, it's not frustrating but in my case it also doesn't make me feel anything. THAT is nothing-burger to me, because I don't feel like I'm accomplishing anything.

I like being able to run through a map, discover shit by myself and not knowing what's up for me. I like having very few indications of what I can do, no invisible walls, no yellow paint to tell me I can climb somewhere. So yeah, who cares about Korok Seeds ? Still feels like some treasure to me when I got some just by myself. It's way more meaningful than just climbing X amount of towers to unlock a very small part of the map that will tell you that around it you can grab X species of mushrooms and kill deers. And they have to do that because the map design of those games aren't made so you can find your way without a GPS telling you where you need to go. Assassin's Creed, Horizon and dare I say, even TW3 being culprits (tho this last one isn't focused on being an openworld game)

Also Hellblade is a whole other genre.

Not so much a gameplay video than a look at some new powers but they do look pretty cool. Be awesome to see the Power Ranger Megazordz that people will cruising around on :rofl2:

One of the earliest rumours i read was regarding the Zonai tech and anyone else spot the Construct robits dropped Zonai circuits?

Still want more on the direction of the game tho, is it just running around doing the same shit as last time or do we have dungeons? Watched an interesting video on how Nintendo have recently patented a 7 peice master sword from this game with a possible hint to dungeons.

i cant wait for the flying machines people come up with. They really did something here to freshen up the gameplay.
And i hope there wont be as many strong weapons and a slight more focus on crafting things, so the mechanic wont go under in mid/late game

Looks superb!

But the resolution looked a little janky in places and did bodies of water appear to stop fluctuating and flowing when you turn the camera (?) or was that just me?
I've put that on YouTube compression and/or probably their footage.

I bit disappointed they haven't changed much when it comes to weapons. The powers they showed look fun but I wonder if the « end game » results in just sticking as much weapons as you can

They said they still haven't showed all the mechanics, guess we'll see then.
