UNEO forwards just open sd:/apps/usbloader_gx/boot.dol
there's no like, magic dol version detection or anything like that
Got it working just right now! Thanks!

Edit. HomebrewChannel.wuhb does not seem to work, it shows the wii splash screen but then loads back to the wiiu menu.

There are two title id's for the hb channel, depending on how it was installed. I think the other is LULZ

I also noticed I got error 199-9999 when launching the USB Launcher GX forwarder (installed to NAND), even though I confirmed Tiramsu was running. I removed the WiiU formatted drive and tested again and it then worked. I then deleted and reinstalled it on USB, and it worked. Moved it to Wii U NAND with Memory Manager and it didn't work again, unless I removed the USB drive again.

What I've now done is copy it to the Wii U USB drive, so if it's in, it launches from the USB drive, and if it's out it launches from the NAND, so appears to be a bug somewhere launching it from NAND when the Wii U USB is connected.

Hmmm good to know

If anyone can help I'm currently having a minor issue with the forwarder. Every time i load up it loads usb loader correctly but states "USB Device is not initialized. Switching to channel list mode". I'm running my wii and GC games from my sd so i have to manually go and reenable SD card mode in usb loader gx if i launch it from the Wii U app. Is there anyway i can get it to save my sd card mode settings instead of having to change it everytime?

Reposting here since I accidentally posted in the thread linked above:

I'm having trouble getting the wii u forwarder channel to work. I've tried installing using WUP installer to both NAND and USB, but every time it just opens to a black screen with the music stuck on loop. I've also tried using both the newest version of the vwii forwarder found on the usblgx github page and the older .wad included in the mega download, but that didn't make a difference. Using Aroma

I don't think I can post a link to anything as I'm still new here, but I was able to make a forwarder myself using Boot2vWii that works on Aroma - I'd recommend having a look into it, it seems pretty neat! I'll post a link to the .wuhb I made myself in a bit when I'm able to too.

Post automatically merged:

Okay, so all you have to do (assuming you've got the forwarded for the vWii set up already and everything else), is put my forwarder into your "SD://wiiu/apps" folder. Here's the forwarder I made, and for good measure here's the link to Boot2vWii, which I'll definitely be using more of myself in the future lol

Hi!

I have a U with Tiramisu and two USB HDDs. One is for the U and the other for the Wii.
The WiiU GX channel works nice, as long as I dont hide the Wii HDD with "USBHide".
If hidden, the WII U GX channel just crashes and I need to restart the console.

If I use the official Wii Channel to load the Wii GX loader channel it works perfect, also with the hidden HDD.

Is there a known way to fix it?

Thanks :)

I have exactly the same problem.

Waiting for new version.

Thank you so much for your hard work :)

forwarder working as it should, but i was wondering if it would be possible to have a "TV Only / Gamepad & TV" prompt" upon launching, similar to how the official Wii Channel works.

i keep the gamepad off (or at least its screen) when not required, and especially have no use for it when going into vWii mode. in fact, i'll likely be using the Wiimote to power up the Wii U if intending to use vWii, so the gamepad may be elsewhere.

as it is now, though, even if the screen is set to off prior, the forwarder will re-awaken the gamepad when booting into USB Loader GX. you then have to hold the gamepad's power button and press it again to shut it down - a minor annoyance when not in its vicinity, so a TV Only option upon startup would be great.

You can create a VC inject with the loaders forwarder DOL to get these options, but then you can't play Wii games. So the loader basically becomes a frontend for Nintendont with the ability to download and enable or disable specific cheats.

In your case you might be better off using UWUVCI AIO or TeconMoon's WiiVC Injector to inject your Wii games. It's just more time consuming to set everything up this way and you won't be able to apply patches or cheats like you can with USB Loader GX.

Unrelated to your question, but make sure you read Cyan's edit and install the correct WAD file when using this forwarder package.

thanks blackb0x, i did use the updated wad. but just to confirm, does this look like the normal behavior for this forwarder: (Wii U powered up & auto-booted into Tiramisu) click forwarder --> black USBLGX splash screen --> white Wii U logo screen (as if rebooting Wii U home) --> black USBLGX splash once again --> loader up & running

i only noticed that with the gamepad off, somewhere before the second USBLGX screen, a white WIi logo pops up on it, as if loading vWii and auto-selecting the 'TV & Gamepad option'. but you know what, if i only use the vWii side for a few days/weeks straight the gamepad's battery will die and won't be a nuisance either way lol

Yeah, that's normal.

Since this is a traditional forwarder it boots you to vWii mode and then starts the USB Loader GX channel. So that means the processor is clocked to 729MHz, homebrew can access the USB ports and you can't use the Wii U GamePad to control anything.
