Has anyone tested out any other mosfet models? Is there any specific reason to even use that one, other than its size? There are no huge amounts of power flowing, as far as I can tell (not with wires that thin).
What about something basic like the AO3400?

Pretty sure you need a power mosfet instead of the low voltage mosfet

so I accidentally removed this component from rp2040 when taking the usb-c connector off. I obviously lost it.

Will it work without it? 😫

EDIT: nvm, it's unpopulated by default and I didn't notice beforehand. 😬

I donno yet. Cz I burnt all my 4 mosfet.
Waitting for new ones.

But usually these caps are 0.1uF to avoid some noise and they are redundant so it's ok for just one cap off.

Or try it, more pins of MOS are connected?

The gate uses a 1-10 KΩ pull-down resistor to connect to ground

The wires to the mosfet are only the signal wires, that just 3.3v with a few milliamps.
But the glitching happens on the mosfet with the 1V line of the CPU.
According to some numbers mentioned before, the number of amps can go up to 10A.
So how many amps the mosfet can handle is important.
An AO3400 can handle only max 5.8 amps according to the datasheet so that might fail at some point.
Some magical smoke might escape from the mosfet if it burns out internally.
Or the metal of the legs simply melts.
An RFHS8342 can handle 12A~20A depending on the model.
Also there are some differences in response time for different mosfets.
This might result in the software triggering the glitch with the wrong timing.

hi guys im planning to install latest picofly mod to my switch i found 47 ohm smd resistors. but they are of various power wattage ex 1/6 watt 47.ohm.1/4 watt 47 ohm 1/8watt 47 ohm...etc all are of 47 ohm but different power wattage and different form factor ...which one of these 47 ohm resistors of wattage and form factor is ideal for this mod?? or is thing such as wattage or form factor is irrevelant as far as resistor is of correct rating 47 ohm ....any help from you guys will be highly appretiated..

note....i regret error from my side i mean 47 ohm smd resistor not 47 k obviously
as i mentioned all smd resistor ive shortlisted are of 47 ohms but issue is they have different form factors and wattage

hi guys im planning to install latest picofly mod to my switch i found 47k smd resistors. but they are of various power wattage ex 1/6 watt 47k ..1/4 watt 47k 1/8watt 47k....etc all are of 47k but different power wattage ...which one of these resistors is ideal for this mod??any help from you guys will be highly appretiated
The signal line can be used with any resistor

You need 47 Ohm (47R or 470 marking). 47k is too much by a thousandfold.

47kΩ is too much, and you need to use a 47Ω resistor

i regret not 47k but obviously 47 ohms

yes its mistake by my side i mean 47 ohm not 47k ohm .

so is differenf form factor and wattage of 47 ohm resistor is irevelant ?? or any form factor 47 ohm smd resistors can be used??

so you mean since i have smd resistor of 47 ohm it can be used in the line irrespective or form factor and wattage of smd resistors of 47 ohm??

could anyone please help me finding out what's wrong here?

rp2040 seems to glitch successfully, but instead of hekate, it boots directly to Nintendo screen, then after some time a red screen shows up.

I've checked the wiring and soldering, everything seems OK.

CYAN - no reaction to glitch. try installing second mosfet like on the picture few pages ago
