Hello everyone!

My Wii has the dvd player busted so I had it modded, I made all the procedure many years ago by myself and I managed to play wii games from a USB hdd with configurable disc loader with no hassle.
Unfortunately I forgot nearly everything about it (might be 10 years ago or so) haven't played with it since some time.

Now I wanted to see if I can load GameCube games from USB. Installed the Nintendont homebrewn but it can't find IOS58.

I would like to be able to use Nintendont but I would like to make the least invasive intervention as everything else work perfectly for me.

I am on system 4.2E, homebrewn channel is 1.1.0 and reports using IOS61 v21.29 And I have CFG USB Loader v. r78.11 as homebrewn on SD card.
Any tips on how to install IOS58 without messing up (or losing functionality?)

Reading around some people say to upgrade to System 4.3 but I am unsure (never change a winning team as they say...).

Others say to use Pimp my wii but I see conflicting infofmations, some people say it's great while some other say it's messy.

I would install just IOS58 but I am unsure how to do this and which slot to install it with and I know after this procedure I have to install again the homebrewn channel to work with IOS58 and I am a bit confused and stuck on that.

Posted as an attachment the IOS dialog from CFG loader's settings.

Would like a tip on which direction to go, thanks a lot!

This won't happen if you update to 4.3

Although, not sure if it's still possible to do it "legally" since Nintendo's Wii services has been down for ages.
For this you'll either need to try a game that includes the update, or try the normal way, that is through Wii settings.

If the wii was originally Korean and poorly region changed, an official update via disk or online could 003 brick u

Just use modmii to simultaneously update and softmod your wii

Either use the main wizard and tell it your wii is a virgin even if it isn't, or use it's syscheck updater wizard for it to analyze your system and update only what's necessary

The end result will be pretty much the same

Edit: and do yourself a favour and steer clear of pimp my wii.... just one man's opinion

No it's not, it's European.

Thanks for your help!

I think I'll start with updating just what's neccesary and see if that solves it, see how that'll come out.
If not I'll go for the full update with modmii main wizard!

I'll keep you updated!

Will do!
