hello friends, would it be possible to create a port of (The king of fighter unlimited match 2002, Ultra street fighter 4 and Saint Seiya soul of golds) to run on the WII U? I believe the KOF and USF.

currently the wii already has ports sonic mania, sonic 1, 2 and CD, GTA 3 and VC, and a beta port of cuphead that never went forward, I wanted to know if anyone has tried to create more ports for the console I think it's very.

It's always possible to have more ports but the hard part is interested and willing parties aswell as time.

Gonna say I don't believe any of your suggestions are being worked on for starters and I won't go into technicals about wether they would even work or not as im afraid it's a no go until someone says they're doing it.

As with everything, we have to leave it in the hands of the potential devs who may be interested.

you're right but i'm sure that ultra street fighter 4 and the king of fighter 2002 unlimited match would work on wiiu but, and as you said only those who know can answer that.

With the source code in hand, sure, this happened with other games like Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, GTA 3, GTA Vice City and Sonic Mania for example.

The problem is that not every game is decompiled so we don't always have the source code at hand, other than that it's also necessary for people who are interested in doing the port since it's not an easy job.

Cuphead wasn't actually a port, just someone's little proof of concept of building the game up for the Wii U.

Ports, no. But if you want to play KOF, you might have luck with an emulator.
No is the wrong answer in regards to these kinds of ports (though perhaps correct for these specific games ever getting such s treatment in question). These are ports of decompiled and reverse engineered games. More get decompiled and reverse engineered from time to time with many to come (its a long process to do for a single game).

As things stand now, it's not unreasonable to expect Wii U ports in the future for the just fished decomp of Perfect Dark, that Link to the Past decomp could potentially come to Wii U which would be nice for native widescreen, and in the future Majora's Mask will eventually see the same treatment Ocarina of Time has seen with the Ship of Harkinian project. And those are just 3 examples, it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect others to arrive in time.

The Wii U can handle most of these projects as the games that are getting these treatments are not extremely taxing. The most complex games we've seen are GTA 3 and Vice City, and they run fantastic on the Wii U. Sonic Mania does yield some slowdown in the 3D special stages, but otherwise that runs great too.
