Doesn't that plugin have the issue of always overclocking vWii?
No, it applies on compatible titles only.

Technical bla: It hooks into the VC loader. from there it checks that the VC title to get loaded is installed to NAND. If that's true it looks for a c2w.img file in the titles code folder. If (and only if) the .img file is found it applies the patches to redirect to it.

//EDIT: The overclocking codes are inside of the c2w.img file. Normally the Wii U loads this file from firmware but this plugin rediredts it to the one shipped with the title. Only compatible titles ship with this file.

//EDIT2: So when you select the c2w overclock action in teconmoon it will download the .img file from Nintendo, patch the overclock codes in and place the result into the code folder. When you don't select that option it doesn't even download the .img file, so it doesn't end in the code folder. This way you can choose which titles to overclock.

//EDIT3: That said the issue with the first plugin approach by Gary was not that it overclocked vWii all the time but that it redirected to a none existing file.

Yeah, but it also activates it when you open emulators (Wii64, Not64, WiiStation, etc) when you open them through Wii U forwarders, correct?

@Snowden This is correct for as long as the emulators (forwarders/injects) ship with said c2w.img file. Commercial software doesn't do that. For injects/forwarders you have to explicity enable it while creating said inject/forwarder, else no overclocking will be applied.

So yea, in theory you could inject i.e. Wii SXRX two times: One time with and one time without c2w patches (remember to give both a different title ID and maybe also a different app name), then decide which one to use by selecting the corresponding icon on the Wii U menu. Can't really see a reason for starting it without overclocking but yea, it is possible in case you want it that way.

Huh. Most of the forwarders I use are from users on here or created using Tecons injector script. I set it to enable c2w, is that what your referring to?

Also to slightly change the subject. I dono if this could be possible, so I'm asking first. With these plugins getting more and more powerful. Could it be possible to create a plugin that mimics a WUPC as a gamepad? It would save a lot of problems for those few poor souls who's gamepads get broken or lost.

Yes. When you enables that option the injectors will add the .img file which my plugin will detect, so overclocking will get applied. That said enables that option for compatible emulators only.

@Maschell

Is the region free plugin better than whatever's in haxchi? In haxchi it's hit and miss. Do all games work smoothly here?

Also, since I'm still on haxchi, is Aroma or Tiramisu better? Totally ignorant here.

Aroma Beta 12 has been released!

Fixes:
- Fixed some rare cases where exiting an application would result in a crash
- Fixed joining games via the Friendlist
- Fixed possible crashes which could happen when navigating the WUPS Config Menu
- Fixed displaying all titles in the Daily Log. (The Wii U Menu save redirection is now supported in all apps, not just the Wii U Menu)
- Fixed crashes when inserting/removing the sd card in applets while the Wii U Menu is running
- Fixed connecting to a 3DS in Mii Maker

New features:
- Added support for loading .rpl files via OSDynload_Acquire from the sd card. `OSDynload_Acquire("~/wiiu/libs/test.rpl", &handle)` will try to load `sd:/wiiu/libs/test.rpl`
- Added an option to hide all .rpx from the Wii U Menu
- Added support for `sd:/wiiu/apps/.ignore` which can be used to hide homebrew apps from the Wii U Menu.
- Added a error notification when Aroma is booted with a write-locked sd card.

Other:
- Renamed the config item to "Hide all homebrew" if no `homebrew_launcher.wuhb` exists on the sd card to avoid confusion about the existence of a homebrew launcher for Aroma.

To update to the latest Aroma version simply run the Aroma Updater or download the latest Aroma version here:

Hi,

just wanted to ask a favor if someone can link me to a mod for aroma discord server?

I want to make an appeal for being banned. My account got hacked and started to send spam messages.

thank you.

12 beta releases. Why not a 1.0 proper release? Aroma is now very stable and has lots of features.
It's just random versioning, isn't it? E.g. Atmosphere took 54 releases and almost 3 years to hit 1.0.0. Once there is no reason to prefer Tiramisu over Aroma, i'll make a proper 1.0.0 release :D But in the end nothing would change. More important would be to update the guides to use Aroma instead of Tiramisu

Most of the appeal to remain in Tiramisu strives on the fact that Aroma is not compatible with Retroarch. I believe that, aside from that, Aroma is pretty good.

Just finished installing aroma and the plugins on OP's post (Thank you very much Maschell et al. for this amazing work)

I'm wondering if it's possible to forward the latest version of USB LOADER GX on the wiiU menu on AROMA? I already have the latest version on the vwii side of things.

Another inquiry ,I have a Japanese wiiU, will the aroma plugin 'region free' helps set the language to english if I download an NA region game? I'm asking because on tiramisu some stubborn NA region games still persist to Japanese while some have games have no problems.

Edit. The answer to my second section is Yes, aroma region free plugin totally makes stubborn out of region games play their original language, Aroma environment is special. Anyone reading this, Feel free to answer the first question. Thanks!

Edit 2. Tried playing on vwii using my dedicated HDD after upgrading to aroma and updating my ULGX, games just redirects me back to ULGX menu after opening, used to work before on tiramisu but does not work on both environments now. Any clue what happened?

Edit 3. If you're using a dedicated usb HDD that uses a y-cable, make sure the thick wire on the y-cable is at the top back usb port. Apologies for the multiple edits, as I'm updating this comment as I fix things. Still can't find the answer for the first question.

Edit 4. Case closed. Solve all my questions.

Not sure if you could call this a bug but two out of my three accounts have lost the order of the menu when using aroma.
Back on tiramisu I used menu sort to organise everything alphabetically and when using tiramisu all three accounts are still fine.
When I boot into aroma only my main account is still in the right order.
Anyone else experience something similar?

I have an issue with the Mario 64 Wii U port, it seems that on Aroma, the game doesn't save and doesn't seem to recognize previous save files either. I have tried both with a WUHB and channel forwarders.

On Tiramisu it saves perfectly fine, but when I boot the game on Aroma it wipes the save files.

Is there a way to preserve the Wii U Menu layout (the order of the icons) for all accounts?

When I change the layout with Aroma disabled it only persists on my main account (which is the first one on the list) but not for the other accounts on the console.

EDIT: homebrew_on_menu seems to be causing the issue, when I removed this plugin the changes for all accounts persisted, but now I'm unable to launch homebrews from the Wii U Menu. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

EDIT 2: As workaround you have to manually copy the Wii U Menu save files from the MLC to the sd:/wiiu/homebrew_on_menu_plugin to keep changes to the layout in sync. (should't this be done automatically for all accounts?)

Yes. When you enables that option the injectors will add the .img file which my plugin will detect, so overclocking will get applied. That said enables that option for compatible emulators only.
Can you list the compatible emulators for setting the c2w in teconmoons injector, please?
