Mark Z Danielewski has a rather dense writing style - lots of long sentences, not much breaking them up, which makes it a little hard to read. Not like I can say I'm better. However, I will say that every sentence does feel like it sets something up - never really feels like any sentence is just there to pad, or for miscellaneous description. He writes with purpose. It's great. I'll probably report back when I get further, because I hear it gets funky formatting wise and I want to discuss that later.

That book is absolutely crazy. The formatting does get difficult though. Be sure to read it all. The footnotes and everything. If directed to read an appendix or something, do it, then return to where you left off. There are several stories going on at once. It's just... all kind of terrifying.

Oh, yeah, no I heard about that. It's most of why I wanted to get into it in the first place, I love difficult/experimental media. I mean, my profile picture is from a.. I wouldn't say *difficult*, but definitely *experimental* visual novel, Milk Outside A Bag Of Milk Outside A Bag Of Milk. Big recommend on that one, too.
